In lecture,Sandro Using the framework of transmediation, Professor Jung selected three important texts from the 18th century - Samuel Richardson's "Pamela", James Thomson's "The Four Seasons" and Lawrence Sterne's "The Emotional Journey", focusing on Note how the illustrations in the original text were adapted and appropriated on new material media (such as fans, snuff bottles, clay pots, etc.), thus telling the media transformation and meaning changes of literary illustrations on different utensils, and how literary works are re-disseminated through this series of visual interpretation lenses. On the one hand, the cross-mediality of illustrations plays an important role in shaping social texts when speculating on and recalling literary meanings, and offers the possibility of redefining the concept of social texts. The objects in the text thus become a visual narrative medium that shapes the public's perception of the literary work. On the other hand, Professor Jung pointed out that all the objects or media he introduced represent the layering of textual knowledge. Through further interpretation of illustration works or expansion of imagination, readers and viewers also create their own narratives in this cross-media experience. Therefore, the cross-media communication of illustrations expands the acceptance and experience of literary works. Although the interpretations of object designers or readers may not always be accurate, through readers and viewers, literature is given a power of self-recreation.
