Teacher Li Biao first introduced the changes in the current news communication environment, focusing on the rise of social communication, including the trends of socialized mass production, mass distribution and consumption. He explained in detail the evolution of information production entities, from four types of entities: UGC, PGC, OGC to MGC, as well as new models of information distribution such as algorithm personalization, editorial recommendations, and hotspot ranking recommendations. Teacher Li Biao pointed out that the spread of online public opinion under the current division of labor in society shows three main characteristics: relay spread on different platforms, group spread and emotional spread. From the perspective of time and space, the development of my country's online public opinion events has the following characteristics. These events show an M-shaped distribution throughout the year, reaching their peak especially in March and April, and mostly occur in the evening. Geographically, the eastern coastal areas such as Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai have concentrated more online public opinion events.
In view of the new characteristics and trends of the public opinion ecology in our country, Teacher Li Biao emphasized the impact of the enhancement of technological power and civil society power on public opinion, as well as the possible changes in public opinion under the joint action of various forces, such as the "cocooning" of social relations, the ambivalence of virtual social relations, and group loneliness. The importance of cultivating public opinion thinking is emphasized from three aspects: ecological thinking, dialogue thinking and humanistic thinking. In the governance of online public opinion, we must grasp "coordination" and "interaction", promote dialogue and interaction between different classes, circles and interest groups, and form a basic social consensus, so that the online public opinion system can more smoothly exert its self-organizing effect and minimize the negative effects of information cocoons.
