Cultural and Art Teaching Department：Comprehensively improve students’ psychological quality and artistic quality

The Department of Culture and Art Teaching currently has 11 faculty members, including 3 associate professors, 5 lecturers, and 3 doctorates. They are mainly responsible for public art education, psychology course teaching and mental health education in w88 casino. In 2015, taking advantage of the w88 casino's preparation of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan", all faculty and staff of the Teaching Department worked together and proactively, deeply studied and practiced the core socialist values, and took promoting the comprehensive and harmonious development of students as their own responsibility. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, we will collaborate and innovate, expand the main channels for education and teaching construction and reform, enrich and improve course categories, create cross-characteristic art courses, organically combine aesthetic education with moral education, and mental health education to enhance students' creativity, stimulate new learning and growth points, and promote students' all-round development; make full use of social resources, explore the integrated education mechanism inside and outside the w88 casino, integrate the first classroom with the second and third classrooms, create art education brand activities, effectively improve students' psychological quality and artistic literacy, and create a positive campus cultural atmosphere that shares beauty.
Promote the construction of art general courses
In order to further improve the quality of general art courses, the Teaching Department organized an inter-w88 casino survey from April to May 2015 to carefully sort out and summarize the development ideas for the construction of general art courses in w88 casino. Divide art courses into two categories: theoretical literacy and practice. Add practical hands-on links to theoretical literacy courses, add basic knowledge explanations and appreciation of works to art practice courses, and focus on cultivating students' artistic literacy and aesthetic ability. Since the establishment of the department, department teachers have been encouraged to actively apply for teaching material construction projects. The Teaching Department funded the publication of the department's textbooks, and jointly held a launch ceremony with the Propaganda Department and the publishing house. Associate Professor Liu Yongge has accumulated many years of experience and spent five years writing and publishing this book, which serves as a reference textbook for the course "Chinese and Foreign Art Appreciation". The publication of this book has filled the gap in art teaching materials in w88 casino and achieved a new breakthrough in art teaching in w88 casino.
Deepening the reform of required psychological courses
"Mental Health and Self-Growth" is a compulsory psychology course for freshmen, with wide coverage and great influence. In 2015, the method of lecture-based and closed-book assessment was changed, and a peer education model was launched, that is, group discussions in class, team activities after class, and team presentation at the end of the semester are important criteria for performance assessment. Through questionnaire surveys and interviews, it was found that students recognized and loved this teaching and assessment method.
In addition, on the basis of summarizing two years of teaching experience, to ensure the teaching effect of limited teachers, the required psychology course applied for the reform of small class teaching (60 people) in some classes, emphasizing interactive teaching, multimedia teaching, one-two-three classroom interaction, etc., and was successfully approved for the w88 casino's regular curriculum construction project.

The Teaching Department combines the census of freshmen’s mental health with the course teaching content, and optimizes the course content to be closer to students’ actual psychological development needs, so that students can have a correct and comprehensive understanding of psychological counseling, further improve their awareness of psychological self-help and help-seeking, and achieve positive interaction in the first and second classrooms of mental health education through personalized guidance and follow-up services of psychological counseling.
The Teaching Department fully recognizes that extracurricular artistic activities are an important way for colleges and universities to cultivate socialist core values. Through extracurricular extended lectures and activities, students can enhance their recognition of traditional Chinese culture and enhance their national self-confidence and pride. In 2015, in conjunction with the theme of commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, a series of traditional culture and art lectures were continued, including "Dreams Back to the Han and Tang Dynasties Yuefu Songs and Poems", "Song of the Motherland - Yellow River Cantata", "Sculptor's Talk", etc.
Continue to build an art education brand
Since the first exhibition of art teachers and students' works was successfully held in 2013, the Culture and Art Teaching Department has gradually summed up experience, introduced new ideas, and built the exhibition of art teachers and students' works into a brand activity of w88 casino's art education, which has strongly supplemented art classroom teaching. In 2015, the participating authors of "Building Dreams in the Art Sea" include teachers and students from all colleges and departments of the w88 casino, as well as specially invited artists from outside the w88 casino. Their works demonstrate the art teaching purpose of drawing on the strengths of others, learning from each other, and making progress together between teachers and students. The traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting art is compatible with the Western oil painting and sculpture art forms, which reflects the international education characteristics of the w88 casino that are both local-based and world-oriented.
Use competition to promote learning and improve teachers’ teaching level
The Teaching Department attaches great importance to teaching competitions at all levels, taking competitions as an opportunity and evaluation as a driving force to strengthen teachers’ teaching investment and improve teachers’ teaching level. In 2015, w88 casino held the first micro-course teaching video competition. Our department selected 4 teachers to cover 3 courses: "Chinese Music Appreciation", "Sculpture Practice and Creation", and "Love Psychology". Among them, "Sadness" by teacher Liu Jing from "Chinese Music Appreciation" won the second prize, and the other three teachers won the third prize. From November to December 2015, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission held the first Beijing public art course exhibition and evaluation event in ordinary colleges and universities. In accordance with the requirements of the w88 casino party committee, the Teaching Department carefully organized and fully mobilized to select Liu Jing to represent w88 casino in the competition. The preliminary competition ended on November 20, and Liu Jing has successfully entered the finals.
