Its purpose is to "make dormitory life better" and has continuously satisfied the pursuit of quality of life by many people who love life. So today our program invited senior Wei Danyang, the representative of Xiaowo Entrepreneurship Team, the third prize winner of Jingwei Cup, to share with us his entrepreneurial experience. Wei Danyang:Hi, everyone, I am Wei Danyang from Xiaowo. I am very happy to participate in today's program.

Voice of Huiyuan:Can you give us a brief introduction to the basic situation of your nest?

Wei Danyang:Xiaowo is a platform that a few classmates and I founded to provide dormitory life service information for college students. It has been officially operational since September 1, 2014, and it has been about three months now.

Voice of Huiyuan:So what kind of services do you usually provide to students?

Wei Danyang:Xiaowo’s services are mainly based on the WeChat platform. We will select a topic every day and provide you with some useful information. For example, what is good to eat, what is good to use, how to store it well, etc. This is basically it. In the future, we will also register our own store and provide supporting purchasing services.

Voice of Huiyuan:Sounds quite tempting. So when you formed an entrepreneurial team like Xiaowo, what was your inspiration? Why did you suddenly have the idea to form such a team and provide this kind of service to everyone?

Wei Danyang:The reason why we wanted to set up a dormitory at that time was very simple. It was because a few of us were relatively lazy people, but at the same time we wanted to enjoy life. However, we found that the dormitory guide on the Internet was not very good. There were only scattered artifacts that were equivalent to dormitory sharing, but no one had ever made such a thing in the system, so we thought we would just do it ourselves, gather all the information, and guide everyone to live a better life.

Voice of Huiyuan:That is to better integrate the information and provide it to everyone, right?

Wei Danyang:Yes, it is actually an information release platform.

Voice of Huiyuan:Then why did you choose it at that time“small nest”Such a name? What connotation do you give it behind this name?

Wei Danyang:Because we think the dormitory is actually for everyone, first of all, it is small. Second, for everyone who lives in it, it is a nest that has been lived in for many years. To a certain extent, it can be regarded as a small dwelling, but we think it also has a sense of warmth, so we call it a small nest.

The charm of partnership: mutual support and self-improvement

“I think as a college student, if you really have some free time and you have some passion, you should try something. Even if you don’t succeed in the end, I think you will learn a lot and improve in the process.”

Voice of Huiyuan: This name really makes us sound warm. If we really find such a software, we will definitely open it and take a look. I noticed that your team includes you and two girls from Tsinghua University. How did your team come together from different schools? Do you think it will be more stressful to partner with two Tsinghua girls?

Wei Danyang:Actually, there were only two people when we first formed it, one was me and a girl from Tsinghua University, because that person was my girlfriend.

Voice of Huiyuan:In this way, there are still some internal connections.

Wei Danyang:Just because we have common interests, we said let’s do it, and then we did it together. Others were added later during the development process.

Voice of Huiyuan:It was quite hard for you to build this team from scratch. They say a friend in need is a friend indeed. Do you have any interesting stories to share with you during the entire entrepreneurial process?

Wei Danyang:There are quite a lot of interesting stories, because my girlfriend is a person who pays more attention to details. When she was just starting out, she would be very picky about every detail. For example, how many spaces should be left in an article, how many spaces should be left in front of pictures, and how many spaces should be left behind pictures. She would be very picky about it, so I still suffered a lot of noise.

Voice of Huiyuan:There is still a bit of Virgo perfectionism.

Wei Danyang:Yes, it should be.

Voice of Huiyuan:Actually, I think this is quite important for college students to start their own business. Pay attention to every detail and make things perfect. The current social public opinion on college students' entrepreneurship is also mixed. There are even public opinions that college students should drop out of w88 casino, stop their grades and studies, and just start their own business. What are your thoughts on this issue?

Wei Danyang:I think it is difficult to say about entrepreneurship, but I think college students' entrepreneurship itself should be encouraged, because we can see that many projects in developed countries are really started by college students themselves, and there are also such precedents in China. I think as a college student, if you really have some free time and you have some passion, you should try something. Even if you don't succeed in the end, I think you will learn a lot and improve in the process. For example, if I want to do something like this, I might organize some small activities, or organize offline activities, etc., but it is actually much more troublesome than I imagined. Even if it is just a small attempt in the end, I still gained a lot of experience.

Facing the challenges of the future: maintaining unchanged passion and focus

Voice of Huiyuan: Yes, after you seriously invest in this matter, it is more about the experience of truly participating in society and the acquisition of experience than learning. This is also a valuable asset in life. Senior Danyang, what do you think is the biggest challenge facing Xiaowo right now? Or did you face any difficulties in the early stages of this entrepreneurial project?

Wei Danyang:I think the biggest challenge is people, because if you want to do a project, you need to find your own team. In the initial stage, it is just the two of us doing it, but if we want to develop in the future, two people cannot handle it. I also formed some teams in the middle, but I found that there were many students who thought it looked interesting, but when they started doing it seriously, they would find it very stressful and quit, so it is really difficult to find a reliable team.

Voice of Huiyuan: We still need to expand our team to make insiders more competitive.

Wei Danyang: No, it makes them more stable and they can continue to have the passion to do such a thing, because starting a business is difficult after all. There are many students who find it interesting and want to join, but they will quit after they find many difficulties. If you want to find five or six people who can stick with it like you, it's very difficult.

Voice of Huiyuan:Finding like-minded people to complete this thing with you is indeed difficult in the early stages of starting a business, because everyone may have different ideas at this age. So for such an entrepreneurial project in the future, what do you think is its future development direction? Or do you think it is possible to expand into other specific businesses in the future?

Wei Danyang:In fact, when Xiaowo just started, we formulated a development plan for the next four to five years. In the initial stage, we should first develop WeChat and win more users from the WeChat platform. At the end of this semester, we are mainly engaged in activities at the three schools of Foreign Economic and w88, National People's Congress and Tsinghua University, focusing on these three schools to win users. At the beginning of next semester, our store will be online and supporting purchasing services will be launched. After the store goes online, our next task is to form our own design team, which is difficult because we don’t want to be someone who sells dormitory supplies. We want to develop a set of products that are really well adapted to dormitory life. You can understand that we want to make it a more humane, IKEA-like thing.

Voice of Huiyuan:Just now you also mentioned that you may hold an event at the International w88 and Economic Cooperation, the National People's Congress or Tsinghua University. Are there any recent events at the University of International w88 and Economics that you can introduce to everyone?

Wei Danyang:We will have a surprise at Christmas time. We are currently preparing it and have invested probably several thousand yuan. We will try our best to allow everyone at the University of International w88 and Economics to receive our surprise.
