w88 casino News Network (provided by the w88 casino of Marxism)On May 16, the "UIBE New Thought Lecture Hall" course "Introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era" was held in the lecture hall of the library. Professor Dai Changzheng, Director of the Department of Political Science and Dean of the w88 casino of International Relations/National Security and Governance Research Institute of the w88 casino, gave the lecture. Focusing on the theme of "Trump 2.0 and the Future of International Order", we conducted an in-depth analysis, combined with the current global political and economic changes, to explore the potential impact of the new US government policies on the geopolitical landscape, the reconstruction of the international order and global governance, and called on the international community to jointly cope with the rules game in the era of uncertainty. It presented an academic feast with both strategic height and practical warmth to the teachers and students present, which aroused widespread resonance. This lecture was hosted by Li Xiaosheng, associate professor of the w88 casino of Marxism.

Professor Dai Changzheng took the recent US tariffs on China and the chip ban as examples to vividly demonstrate the new changes in the international political and economic game in the Trump 2.0 era. He pointed out that with Trump taking office again, the U.S. geopolitical strategy has shown obvious characteristics of priority interests and selective intervention. It uses low-cost bilateral negotiations and power chips to promote a new pattern of regional intervention centered on U.S. interests, which has had a great impact on global security. He particularly emphasized that to understand Trump 2.0, one must grasp the essential characteristics of its “transactional diplomacy.”

Professor Dai Changzheng systematically analyzed the security challenges that may be faced by the three major regions of the Middle East, the Indo-Pacific, and Europe, and pointed out the strategic opportunities contained therein. Taking the situation in the Taiwan Strait as an example, he explained the complex logic of the game between great powers in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. By comparing the evolution trajectories of different international systems, he pointed out that from the WTO to the CPTPP, from the Paris Agreement to the New Energy Alliance, the international political order is undergoing a profound reconstruction. In addition, Professor Dai Changzheng focused on global issues such as climate change, public health, and digital economy, emphasizing the new tests facing multilateralism. He particularly reminded that emerging countries need to have a say in these areas. The explanation in this part is both theoretical and full of practical concerns.

Professor Dai Changzheng showed that with the rise of global southern power and the return of the Trump 2.0 government, the global governance system is facing unprecedented structural shocks and transformation pressures. He emphasized that the rise of countries in the Global South in recent years has become an important force in reshaping the international order. At the economic level, countries in the Global South, represented by China, India, Indonesia, Brazil, and South Africa, have significantly increased their share of global economic profits through long-term accumulation and regional cooperation, and have made strategic breakthroughs in technology, manufacturing, energy, resources, and infrastructure construction, reshaping the structure of the global value chain. At the political level, countries in the Global South have used collective voices to speak out. We have constantly called for a more balanced and inclusive global governance structure, emphasizing the right to development, sovereign equality, and institutional fairness. In terms of institutional participation, the global South has increasingly strengthened its influence on international institutions. From promoting IMF quota reform to advocating global development initiatives and global security initiatives, countries in the global South have begun to actively design rules, build platforms, and promote multi-level governance mechanisms. He made it clear that we must support free w88 and multilateral mechanisms, and advocated following the international order with the United Nations at its core.

Finally, Professor Dai Changzheng pointed out that at a time when changes in the world are accelerating in a century, the international community is experiencing rare multiple risks and challenges. Development deficits, security deficits, and governance deficits are showing a superimposed and amplified trend. Major changes unseen in a century are accelerating. The world has entered a new period of turbulent change. The international order has reached a critical turning point, and the pressure and calls to reshape the international order have become increasingly intense. He hopes that students will develop a global perspective, hone their professional qualities, and contribute their wisdom to promoting the democratization of international relations. This lecture is rich in content and unique insights, providing an important reference for teachers and students to understand the current international situation.
