Professor Dai Changzheng pointed out in his speech that the issue of political identity is not only an important academic issue in comparative politics and international politics, but also an important practical issue that plagues many countries in the world. Successfully obtaining stable political recognition and support is the basis for effective governance of the country. However, because identity is the result of constant interaction between the political system and citizens, and because of the structural characteristics of the political system, there are identity competition issues among different actors at the levels of national identity, political value identity, political system identity, political structure identity, and political behavior identity. Such identity competition is common in the political reality of contemporary countries. Professor Dai Changzheng emphasized that in the contemporary Chinese political environment, identity differences and even identity competition at the above-mentioned levels are also taking place in various forms. A theoretical summary and analysis of this will help people understand the nature and origin of the problem. At the same time, it is also very necessary to examine the current strategies and ways for China to deal with identity competition. Specifically, in dealing with issues such as "Xinjiang independence", "Tibet independence", "Taiwan independence" and "Hong Kong independence", deepening the understanding of the issues from the perspective of political identity will help to enhance the pertinence of the national countermeasures, thereby better safeguarding national unity and political stability.
