【Editor’s note】In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the National Education Conference and other conferences, and comprehensively promote the construction project of teachers in the new era of schools, according to the "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of the Construction of Teachers in the New Era", "Strengthening Teacher Social "Practice participation and promote teachers to fully understand the conditions of the party, the country, the society, and the people" and other document requirements. The Teacher Affairs Department/Human Resources Office of the Party Committee organized and carried out national conditions education for new teachers in 2021 to guide young teachers to expand their horizons, grow their talents, make contributions, and serve the motherland while serving the society. In mid-October 2021, 37 new teachers went to five practice locations: Shihezi in Xinjiang, Karamay in Xinjiang, Qingdao in Shandong, Xishuangbanna in Yunnan, and Haikou in Hainan, kicking off the practice of their education, teaching, subject research, and think tank construction. The process of practice is also a process of understanding life, thinking about the present, sublimating the state of mind, and inspiring the mission. They use real and delicate brushwork and lenses to present practical stories that belong to themselves and more specifically to the young teachers of the University of International w88.
To Xinjiang,Go to the place where the motherland needs it most

On October 14, 2021, my colleagues and I arrived at Karamay, the "Pearl of the Gobi", from Beijing after a nearly five-hour flight. Karamay welcomed us with blue sky, vast Gobi desert and howling wind. For the first time, I intuitively realized that Karamay is a city rising on the Gobi Desert.
The rise of Karamay is the result of the struggle of generations of young people in New China. "The vast flat sands and the vast Gobi Desert; tsunamis and mountains move, ghosts and gods cry; birds do not fly, and pedestrians stay away." This is a true portrayal of Karamay's local environment before the founding of New China. Although there is precious oil buried underground, old China failed to conquer Karamay, a land full of treasures.
In 1955, under the slogan of the New China’s exploration team to “settle down, take root, never produce oil, never give up”, Karamay Well No. 1 was completed and oil was drilled, setting off a nationwide upsurge in supporting the construction of Karamay. "When the rooster sings, the whole world becomes white, and the earth cracks with thunder and a new city is built." This is the result of the first generation of Karamay city builders who took off their military uniforms and put on work clothes, left their hometown to build a foreign land, and worked hard in the desolate Gobi. In the city museum of Karamay, the history of their struggle is always on display, including shabby cotton clothes, iron textbooks, discarded drill bits, hand-cranked computers, and radio stations. The epic of the frontier people’s struggle, dedication, creation, and love for the Party and rejuvenation of the country is recorded here.
More than sixty years have passed, and when I came to Karamay, I saw the glorious results of the continuous struggle of generations of Karamay people. It is the blue waves and vast roads that pass through the city, the green fields that will never fall down, the Populus euphratica, the pearl of the Gobi, and the Wuzhen outside the Great Wall. Karamay people inherit the blood of strugglers and the blood of heroic people in their bones. The whole city is full of enthusiasm for defending and building frontiers.

I am mainly responsible for two aspects of work in Karamay. On weekdays, I work in the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Karamay District, responsible for the planning of the digital economy industrial park and smart city construction. In the evenings and weekends, I return to the Karamay campus of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and conduct various forms of exchanges with teachers and classmates on the campus. Although it didn't take long, I gained a lot.
On the one hand, I went deep into the grassroots and came into contact with the front line of economic construction. I visited several key industrial enterprises in Karamay and gained a deeper understanding of their basic operations and innovative research and development. While responsible for the planning of the Numerical Economic Industrial Park and Smart City, I read a lot of materials and gained a clearer understanding of the development of my country's strategic emerging industries in the new era. Through extensive conversations with agency staff, I fundamentally changed my prejudiced view of the borderland and gained a more comprehensive understanding of the party's approach to borderland governance in the new era. For the first time, I broke away from my identity as a scholar and looked at business operations and industrial policies from the perspective of a government worker. This identity change made me feel refreshed and open my mind. I suddenly thought of the words of the General Secretary’s instructions, “The majority of scientific and technological workers must write their papers on the land of the motherland.”
On the other hand, I integrated into the national conditions education practice unit. I participated in discussions with young teachers from my counterpart unit, and tried my best to open up new ideas for new friends. I conducted lectures for all students in the w88 casino, starting from my own professional knowledge and collaborating with my classmates on ideas. I actively communicate with campus staff, from campus leaders to campus security, and my WeChat address book is filled with Karamay friends. Here, I work hard to complete my transition from student to teacher. I asked experienced senior teachers for their experiences, exchanged experiences with teachers of the same age, and learned about the needs of enthusiastic students. Here, I not only gained experience and methods in education and teaching, but also cultivated the sentiment of educating people in practice. It is no exaggeration to say that China University of Petroleum (Beijing) Karamay Campus became a solid starting point for my teaching career.

During my short time in Karamay, I received the most real and vivid political education. It is the history of the city of Karamay that educates me, and it is the people who persist in struggling in Karamay who educate me. History is created by the people, and the heroic people of Karamay created this heroic city! I will never forget you, Karamay!
In his reply to the graduates of the Karamay Campus of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), the General Secretary pointed out, "I hope that the majority of college graduates across the country will have high aspirations and be down-to-earth, not afraid of difficulties and obstacles, bravely shoulder the mission of the times, integrate their personal ideal pursuits into the cause of the party and the country, and make more contributions to the party, the motherland, and the people." I think young people should go where the motherland and the people need it most. If I have the chance, I will go to Xinjiang again and then to Karamay. Next time I go to Karamay, I will stay longer, better combine my academic research interests with the economic development needs here, and fight together with the heroic people of Karamay!
