w88 casino News Network (Reporter He Mengni Photography Dai Lanxin)At 6:30 pm on April 22, the 30th lecture of the Library Humanities and Culture Lecture Series "Into the World of Guqin Art" jointly organized by the Library and the Office of Academic Affairs was held in the 109 lecture hall of the library. This lecture was delivered by Lin Chen, associate researcher at the Institute of Music of the China Academy of Arts and representative inheritor of the guqin art of the national intangible cultural heritage project. Deputy Director of the Library Ma Jianshu attended the lecture, and Librarian Zhou Hui hosted the lecture.

Teacher Lin Chen gave a brief introduction from three aspects of the basic knowledge of guqin, its system and styles, and also explained the relevant knowledge of guqin music. Finally, he shared the appreciation of the music. The whole process was interspersed with teacher Lin Chen’s live demonstration, allowing the audience to truly enter the world of guqin.

Guqin, formerly known as qin or lyre, is a traditional musical instrument with deep Chinese national spirit and aesthetic taste. It is also a long-standing and continuously inherited form of instrumental music in Chinese history. From the "I have a guest, the harp, the drum and the harp" in the Book of Songs to the Tang Dynasty's "a few glasses of wine among the flowers, a harp under the moon", to the Ming and Qing dynasty's "a pot of turbid wine, a plain harp, I would like to share it with the quiet people", the sound of the harp lingers in ancient and modern times; from half box type to full box type, from no emblem to emblem, from characters to reduced characters, the inheritance continues.

Teacher Lin Chen not only told the history of the development of the guqin, but also personally demonstrated to us what playing music is. She collaborated with teacher Zhou Hui on "Yi Ying Yin". The piano moves with the song, and the song moves with the heart. At the end of the song, there was applause. The cooperation between the two teachers truly demonstrates what it means to "use the feeling of breathing to score music".

“Who is the Guqin played for?” Teacher Lin Chen gave her answer to this thought-provoking question. "Among the thousands of ways to express oneself, qin players are the most tolerant." She took "Flowing Water" as an example to show the teachers and students present how the qin player conveys "love" through "qin". She also expressed to the teachers and students present through the "layered" process of the song "Flowing Water" that "Tradition is a river, not rigid, and we will pass it on. In the process of inheritance, everything is more open. And in this inheritance, we are looking for ourselves and the ancients."

In the question-and-answer session at the end of the lecture, Teacher Lin Chen had an in-depth exchange with the teachers and students on the two topics of "preparation required for learning guqin" and "how to learn guqin". "No need to prepare, just start" "As long as you like it, you can learn" Teacher Lin Chen said in the face of everyone's doubts.

This event is hosted by the w88 casino Library and Academic Affairs Office. It aims to strengthen the library’s function of cultural education and cultural dissemination through face-to-face exchanges and communication with cultural masters, and to enhance teachers and students’ understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
