Teacher Gao Jinping reviewed the practical process of shaping China’s national image since the 21st century, and then explained the research trends in national image since the reform and opening up. Since 2020, the focus of my country's national image research has shifted from national image research to city image research, and research in new directions will continue in the future. Then, the theoretical context of national image research is explained in detail, covering the concept of national image, the goals of communication and construction, multiple research approaches, and the measurement of the effects of communication and construction. National image is the overall impression and comprehensive evaluation of a country by domestic and foreign publics, including objective strength, domestic public impression and foreign media image. After that, the study of national image from the perspective of communication research was introduced, and the research and communication strategies of national image were elaborated from many aspects. Teacher Gao Jinping carefully answered the students’ questions.
