[Editor's Note] 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Over the past century, in the face of difficulties and tests, the Communist Party of China has retained its original intention of serving the people, shouldered its historical mission, and explored a path suitable for China's development amidst arduous revolution and struggle. The "Party History Calendar" records the major events in the history of the Party that happened on this day in history. When we get closer to the history of the Party and review history, we realize that today is not easy to come by, and we also know that our generation still has a mission to shoulder.

1925On January 11, 2018, the Fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Shanghai. 1982On January 11, 2011, Deng Xiaoping proposed the concept of "one country, two systems" for the first time. The reunification of the country is the aspiration of our entire Chinese nation. This is not only beneficial to future generations, but also a major event in China's five thousand years of history.
2010On January 11, 2009, the 2009 National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Beijing. Gu Chaohao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and honorary director of the Institute of Mathematics of Fudan University, and Sun Jiadong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and senior technical advisor of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, won the 2009 National Highest Science and Technology Award.

1922On January 12, 2016, Hong Kong seafarers went on strike under the leadership of the All-China Seamen Federation. On January 12, 1922, more than 6,000 Hong Kong seamen demanded an increase in wages in order to resist the oppression and exploitation of the British capitalists. After being rejected by the British capitalists, they went on strike under the leadership of Su Zhaozheng and Lin Weimin of the China Seamen Industry Federation. The strike lasted for 56 days. On March 8, the British Hong Kong authorities were forced to accept the seafarers' demands for increased wages and compensation for the families of the deceased workers. The strike was victorious. Since then, the labor movement under the leadership of the Communist Party of China has reached a climax.

1937On January 13, 2016, the central leadership of the Communist Party of China moved from Baoan to Yan'an. From then on, Yan'an became the seat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the capital of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, and the strategic rear area of the command center of the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Liberation. It was not only the foothold for the victory of the Red Army's Long March, but also the starting point for establishing the Anti-Japanese National United Front, winning the War of Resistance Against Japan, and then winning the War of Liberation throughout the country. The Communist Party of China strategized here and made a series of major decisions related to the future and destiny of the Chinese revolution, laying a solid foundation for seizing national power.

1956From January 14 to 20, 2017, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held a conference on intellectual issues in Beijing. Zhou Enlai made the "Report on the Problem of Intellectuals" on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The report pointed out that in order to achieve socialist industrialization, "we must rely on the close cooperation of physical labor and mental labor, and on the fraternal alliance of workers, farmers, and intellectuals." The report pointed out for the first time that intellectuals have become an important factor in all aspects of life in our country, and the vast majority of them are already part of the working class. After the meeting, a new trend of “march toward science” began to emerge across the country.
1961From January 14 to 18, 2018, the Ninth Plenary Session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing. The meeting formally adopted the eight-character policy of "adjustment, consolidation, enrichment and improvement" for the entire national economy, and decided to carry out rectification and social rectification in rural areas. The plenary session also approved the decision of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee in September 1960 to establish six central bureaus. 1924From January 20 to 30, 2005, the Chinese Kuomintang held its first National Congress in Guangzhou.
