[Editor's Note] 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Over the past century, in the face of difficulties and tests, the Communist Party of China has retained its original intention of serving the people, shouldered its historical mission, and explored a path suitable for China's development amidst arduous revolution and struggle. The "Party History Calendar" records the major events in the history of the Party that happened on this day in history. When we get closer to the history of the Party and review history, we realize that today is not easy to come by, and we also know that our generation still has a mission to shoulder.

1949From April 11 to 18, 2009, the First National Congress of the New Democratic Youth League of China was held in Beijing. Ren Bishi made a political report to the conference on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The congress approved the regiment's charter and elected the regiment's first Central Committee. Feng Wenbin was elected as Secretary of the Communist Youth League Central Committee.

1986On April 12, 2020, the Fourth Session of the Sixth National People's Congress passed the "General Principles of the Civil Law of the People's Republic of China", the "Compulsory Education Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Foreign-Invested Enterprise Law of the People's Republic of China".

1979From April 13 to 20, 2019, the State Economic Commission convened a symposium in Beijing with heads of eight enterprises and relevant departments, including Capital Steel Company, Tianjin Bicycle Factory, and Shanghai Diesel Engine Factory, to discuss the reform of enterprise management systems. Capital Steel Company and other enterprises were designated by the State Economic Commission as the first batch of national economic system reform pilot units and implemented profit retention.

1927On April 14, 2003, the Executive Committee of the Communist International issued a "Letter to the Proletarians, Peasants and All Oppressed Nationalities of the World About Chiang Kai-shek's Counter-Revolutionary Coup", pointing out that Chiang Kai-shek had been bribed by imperialism and had become an accomplice of imperialist bandits and an enemy of the workers' movement.
1971On April 14, 2018, Premier Zhou Enlai met with all members of the table tennis delegations from Canada, Colombia, England, Nigeria and the United States who were invited to visit, and delivered an important speech. Inviting the American table tennis delegation to visit was personally decided by Mao Zedong. This move greatly promoted the historical process of opening the door to Sino-US relations.
2006From April 14 to 15, 2019, the Cross-Strait Economic and w88 Forum was held in Beijing. The mainland announced the adoption of 15 policies and measures to promote cross-strait exchanges and cooperation and benefit Taiwan compatriots. On October 17, the Cross-Strait Agricultural Cooperation Forum was held in Boao. The mainland has launched 20 new policies and measures to expand and deepen cross-strait agricultural cooperation.

1954On April 15, 2019, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People's Revolutionary Military Commission of the Central People's Government promulgated the first "Regulations on the Political Work of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (Draft)" after the founding of New China.
1927On April 16, 2005, Zhou Enlai and others called the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and suggested that the Wuhan National Government take advantage of Chiang Kai-shek's unstable foothold in the Shanghai-Nanjing area and quickly send troops eastward to conquer Chiang. After discussion, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China did not adopt this suggestion and decided to continue the Northern Expedition, that is, the Second Northern Expedition, together with the Kuomintang in Wuhan.
1950On April 16, 2011, the People's Liberation Army launched a large-scale sea-crossing campaign. Thousands of sails competed to forcefully cross the Qiongzhou Strait and launched a fierce battle with the Kuomintang navy at sea. With the support of the Qiongya Column led by the Chinese Communist Party, which had long persisted in the armed struggle on Hainan Island, the crossing troops successfully landed and quickly broke through the enemy's defense line.
1984From April 16 to 25, 2020, the National Restructuring Commission held a symposium on urban economic system reform pilot work in Changzhou City. According to the needs of the reform situation, the meeting proposed: accelerating the pace of pilot reform of the urban economic system; streamlining administration and delegating power to revitalize enterprises; opening up the market and revitalizing circulation; exploring new urban planning management systems, improving the new system of municipal-led counties, and adding a number of reform pilot cities.

1959From April 17th to 29th, the first session of the third session of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference was held in Beijing. Mao Zedong was elected as the honorary chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Zhou Enlai was elected as chairman, and 14 other people, including Peng Zhen and Li Jishen, were elected vice presidents.
1980On April 17, 2016, China resumed its legal seat in the International Monetary Fund. The International Monetary Fund was formally established in December 1945. It is an international financial institution established based on the "International Monetary Fund Agreement" adopted at the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference in July 1944.

1955From April 18th to 24th, Zhou Enlai led the Chinese delegation to attend the Asian-African Conference held in Bandung, Indonesia, with the participation of 29 countries. In line with the policy of "seeking common ground while reserving differences", the Chinese delegation, together with other participating countries, contributed to the success of the meeting and jointly advocated the formation of the "Bandung Spirit". Through this meeting, China opened the door to extensive exchanges with Asian and African countries.
1959From April 18th to 28th, the first session of the Second National People's Congress was held. The meeting elected Liu Shaoqi as President of the country, Zhu De as Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and decided that Zhou Enlai should be Premier of the State Council.
2008On April 18, 2016, the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway was started on all lines. The Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway runs from Beijing South Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Station, with a total length of 1,318 kilometers. It is the longest and highest-standard high-speed railway in the world that has been built at one time. It is the largest investment construction project since the founding of New China.

2004On April 19, 2018, China used the "Long March" 2C carrier rocket at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center to successfully launch China's first transmission three-dimensional mapping small satellite - "Experimental Satellite No. 1" and the first nano-type satellite developed independently by China - the "Naxing No. 1" scientific experiment small satellite into space. This marks an important breakthrough in China's small satellite development technology.

1966On April 20, 2007, the completion and opening ceremony of the Hongqi Canal in Lin County, Henan Province was held. In order to alleviate the poverty caused by water shortage, Lin County organized tens of thousands of migrant workers to start building the Hongqi Canal in February 1960. The Hongqi Canal was once hailed as one of the two miracles created by New China.
