2020At the beginning of the year, Wang Yijie organized and participated in the American College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition as the team leader. During the epidemic at the time, Wang Yijie was participating in an exchange program in the United States, and there was a time difference of nearly 12 hours with his domestic classmates. In order to reasonably arrange the progress, Wang Yijie organized an online discussion and exchange of task progress at around 8 a.m. US time every day. Every night before going to bed, I will accurately communicate with each team member to understand the completion status. With the joint efforts of their entire team, the US competition achieved an impressive result of F Award. Wang Yijie said that being an organizer requires extremely high communication, coordination and communication skills, which was a challenge for him, but he accepted the challenge and stepped out of his comfort zone.
Where is the road
Wang Yijie participated in the Global Program at Berkeley University in 2020. Choosing to leave a familiar environment and study in a strange country is always a difficult choice. When he first arrived in the United States, he was full of confusion and discomfort. Unlike the yellow faces on Chinese university campuses, American campuses are diverse. "During class, the students in the class are from different countries and regions. The person sitting next to you may be an African brother or a Brazilian friend... In short, the infinite diversity of world cultures is reflected here." Similarly, Wang Yijie is deeply impressed by the strong innovative atmosphere on the Berwick campus. During his undergraduate period, Wang Yijie participated in a variety of internship activities. He has interned at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Alibaba and the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The contents of the four internships overlap, but each has its own focus and is different from each other. He suggested to junior students: “Don’t limit your employment options to your own major. Try more during your undergraduate period to find the direction and field that really suits you. "When interning at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and PricewaterhouseCoopers, the company treated him as an ordinary intern and arranged for him to do some trivial tasks. In contrast, the internship at Alibaba left the deepest impression on him. As an Internet innovation company, Alibaba gave him access to databases and algorithms, allowing him to be exposed to some core businesses. During the internship experience, he worked with several other colleagues to complete the construction of a model, completing the task and improving his core competitiveness.
Similarly, he was deeply touched by the internship at the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC staff were surprised to see students applying for internships from the w88 casino, because the interns who had studied and worked here were mainly from medical schools.
