UIBE Business Confucius Institute at the University of Victoria in Australia participated in the “International Chinese Day” celebration in Victoria

w88 casino News Network (Contributed by the International Chinese Education (Business) Practice and Research Base)On April 24, the Confucius Institute for Business at the University of Victoria in Australia (hereinafter referred to as the “Confucius Institute”) participated in the 2025 “International Chinese Language Day” celebration with the theme of “Chinese: A Gift Through Time and Space”. The event was hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne and hosted by the Chinese Teachers Association of Victoria. It was held grandly at Camberwell Grammar w88 casino, a famous private w88 casino in Melbourne. Professor Colin Clark, foreign director of the Confucius Institute, attended the celebration as a special guest and witnessed this grand event of language and culture together with education professionals and representatives of primary and secondary schools from all over Victoria.

Xu Jixing, President of the Chinese Teachers Association of Victoria, delivered an opening speech. Ben Jekic, Principal of Camberwell Grammar w88 casino, delivered a welcome speech as the host. Fang Xinwen, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne, Chris Thompson, Acting Deputy Secretary-General of the w88 casino and District Services Department of the Victorian Department of Education, Bruce Atkinson, former Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, and Cr Gladys, Melbourne City Councilor Liu) and Kew constituency MP Ms Jess Wilson MP delivered speeches one after another to celebrate the arrival of the 2025 "International Chinese Language Day".

Consul General Fang Xinwen mentioned in his speech that "International Chinese Language Day" is an important opportunity for people around the world to learn, know and understand the Chinese language, and it is also an important platform for strengthening exchanges and mutual learning between different civilizations. This event was held at Camberwell Gramar w88 casino, the first w88 casino in Victoria to offer Chinese courses, which is of great significance.

There are multiple traditional Chinese culture experience exhibition areas at the celebration site. The Confucius Institute especially supported four cultural and interactive workshops of calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, dragon dance and shuttlecock kicking, which attracted enthusiastic participation from teacher and student representatives from 18 schools in Victoria.

A Chinese reading competition for eighth-grade and ninth-grade students in Victoria was held simultaneously at the two venues. Ms. Ding Li, Education Counselor, and Ms. Sun Mengli, Education Consul, presented awards to the winning students.

This event is not only a warm tribute to the charm of the Chinese language, but also a cultural exchange ceremony that crosses national boundaries and connects people's hearts. The Business Confucius Institute at the University of Victoria will continue to be committed to promoting Chinese education and cultural dissemination, and continue to promote understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Australian people.
