Xiong Lili, Executive Director of the Institute of Regional and National Studies, Researcher Liu Ga, Deputy Director of the BRICS Research Center Tanya, and Director of the Institute’s Office Wang Linyue received the visitors.

Xiong Lili welcomed Professor Luciana Acioly’s visit and introduced the institute’s unique advantages of early start, wide coverage, strong interdisciplinary nature, and outstanding strategic service capabilities. Xiong Lili said that Brazil is playing an increasingly important role in global political and economic affairs. The institute has multiple research centers covering Brazil and focusing on the world. It can carry out diverse and far-reaching cooperation with the Brazilian Institute of Applied Economics and produce high-level, strategic and pragmatic research results.
Luciana Acioly introduced her research interests and achievements in the fields of international w88, international finance, and BRICS cooperation, emphasizing that IPEA and the University of International w88 have established a close cooperative relationship, with frequent exchanges and fruitful results. She also pointed out that IPEA focuses on research in areas such as the BRICS cross-border payment system, credit rating cooperation and reindustrialization, and looks forward to conducting more in-depth joint research and academic cooperation with the University of International w88 in the above areas.
Tanya introduced the current research progress of the BRICS Center, including key research topics such as reindustrialization, BRICS cooperation mechanisms and business environment. Tanya also pointed out that the BRICS Research Center has established close ties with the Xiamen BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Base, which can effectively promote innovative cooperation among international think tanks and enterprises.

In 2023, the institute established a cooperative partnership with IPEA. Under the cooperation framework, the two parties carried out many high-level activities and joint research. Tanya, deputy director of the BRICS Research Center, recently served as the guest editor of the 38th issue of the IPEA academic journal Tempo do Mundo (World Time) - "Challenges of BRICS and the Brazilian Presidency in 2025".
