China welcomes the launch of the APEC Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) cooperation framework and its procedural rules, and is glad to have the opportunity to participate in this work of the team.
Professor Bian Yongmin believes that althoughODR is still a new thing in many jurisdictions, but it has been practiced in our country for many years and has accumulated considerable experience. Some top dispute resolution institutions have shown strong interest in becoming ODR service providers in the future, and some of them have already built infrastructure for ODR, including platform construction and formulation of detailed rules. China is willing to work with the APEC Business Council and other economies to promote the construction of this cooperation framework, share experience, and promote capacity building for governments, lawyers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and ODR providers. China hopes that small, medium and micro enterprises can benefit from the APEC ODR mechanism as soon as possible, so that more people can improve their lives through cross-border commerce.
