UIBE Business Confucius Institute at the University of Victoria in Australia held the "China-Australia Logistics" business forum to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia

This forum invited several leading figures in the Australian logistics industry to analyze the current situation of the logistics industry in China and Australia and discuss the opportunities and challenges of the industry in the post-epidemic era. The forum is conducted simultaneously online and offline,20More than a few guests participated offline, and nearly a hundred Chinese and Australian audiences participated online.

This forum invites four guest speakers, including:LinfoxMr. Mark Mazurek, CEO of the company's Australia and New Zealand region, Mr. Grant Davis, vice president of Toll Group's Australia and New Zealand region, Dr. Mary Wang, head of supply chain and procurement of RSM Accounting Firm in Australia, and Mr. Huang Fengming, managing director of SF Express Australia and New Zealand.

The forum was chaired by Professor Colin Clark, the foreign director. John Kirby, Chairman of the Confucius Institute Advisory Committee, delivered a welcome speech. Professor Hong Junjie, Vice President of the w88 casino, delivered an opening speech via video. Guo Chunming, Education Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne, participated online. Guests participating in the forum included a number of logistics professors from Victoria University, scholars in related disciplines, as well as local managers of large businesses and operators of small and medium-sized enterprises in Melbourne. At the same time, Ms. Virginia Birrell, CEO of the Victoria Chapter of the Australia China Business Council, also came to the scene.

Dr. Mary Wang, head of supply chain and procurement at RSM Accounting Firm in Australia, shared information from different angles based on her own cases of dealing with customers in logistics.

There is still an epidemic in Melbourne, and some people are unable to come to participate in offline activities during working days. The Confucius Institute sincerely hopes to invite people from the logistics industry in China and Australia, as well as teachers and students from the University of Victoria and the w88 casino to participate in this event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia. Therefore, the Confucius Institute team specially prepared to conduct this forum simultaneously online and offline. During the question-and-answer interactive session, the four guest speakers not only gave industry suggestions in response to questions raised by on-site participants, but also answered questions raised by online participants.

At the end of 2015, the w88 casino and the University of Victoria jointly established the Victoria University Business Confucius Institute, aiming to build a platform for exchanges between China and Australia in education, culture, business and other aspects through the resources of the Confucius Institute and the two universities. After several years of development, the Confucius Institute has modularized and matured its work in many aspects such as Chinese courses, Chinese cultural activities, and China-Australia business activities. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia, the Confucius Institute has successfully held six China-Australia business-themed events in 2022. Exchanges promote development, and the Confucius Institute looks forward to continuing to contribute to China-Australia exchanges.
