Confucius Institute at UIBE Russian State University for the Humanities held a “Celebrate the New Year” end-of-semester party

News Network (Contributed by the International Chinese Education (Business) Practice and Research Base)On the evening of February 3, 2023, in order to celebrate the successful conclusion of the autumn semester of the Confucius Institute and welcome the Chinese Lantern Festival, the Confucius Institute at the Russian State University for the Humanities in w88 casino successfully held the “Celebrating the New Year” end-of-semester party. Nearly 200 people attended, including teachers and students of the Confucius Institute and parents of students in children’s classes, teachers and students majoring in Chinese at the Humanities University, Chinese students studying in Russia, and Chinese culture enthusiasts in Moscow. Vera Ivanovna Zapokina, director of international affairs at the Humanities University,Deng Ying, first secretary of the Education Department of the Chinese Embassy in Russia, Zhao Dan, second secretary, Liu Kai, executive deputy editor-in-chief of the Asia-Europe Branch of Xinhua News Agency and other guests were invited to attend the event.

In her speech, Vera Ivanovna Zapokina congratulated the students of the Confucius Institute who successfully graduated this semester and spoke highly of the achievements achieved by the Confucius Institute.

The dance "China in Lights" performed by international students from Moscow State University kicked off the event. In the performance section, 11 carefully prepared programs were staged. These programs not only include songs and dances, but also sketches and traditional martial arts performances. Participating in the performance were both Chinese students and teachers and students from the Confucius Institute. The wonderful program won warm applause from the audience.

The cultural experience session at the event was also exciting. The up-close Chinese cultural experience including calligraphy, painting, tea art, Tai Chi, and word guessing attracted every participant. Under the guidance of calligrapher Mr. Kong Lingmin and painter Ms. Wang Xiuling, everyone held a brush and felt the charm of calligraphy stroke by stroke, and became associated with Chinese painting through the combination of painting, paper and ink; or gathered around tea sommelier Yulia to smell the fragrance and taste tea, or stretched their muscles with Tai Chi teacher Anton. The traditional part of the Lantern Festival - guessing lantern riddles has become a hot spot of attention. After repeatedly thinking about the correct answer, everyone jumped for joy and was extremely happy. Chinese dishes such as dumplings, spring rolls, Kung Pao chicken, fish-flavored shredded pork, and Yangzhou fried rice are the most popular. Sipping Chinese tea, tasting Chinese delicacies, admiring Chinese paintings, and holding New Year gifts with the word "福", everyone was deeply moved by the charm of the profound Chinese culture. After the event, they were still reluctant to leave, and they were reluctant to leave for a long time.

This event is the first Chinese Spring Festival celebration held offline by the Confucius Institute in the past three years. It is large-scale, effective and received enthusiastic response, and has been well received by the participants.
