4On March 30, the research group came to the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, a world cultural heritage. They first watched the documentaries "Millennium Dunhuang" and "Dream Buddha Palace" that introduced the contents of the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. The dome film "Dream Buddha Palace" allowed the members of the research group to simulate entering the caves, and truly experienced the beauty and profound historical heritage of the Mogao Grottoes. Then, the study group went to the Mogao Grottoes, had conversations with ancient people from thousands of years ago, and experienced the integration of traditional Chinese culture and art. 2022OOI XU EN (Huang Xuen), a Malaysian undergraduate undergraduate student in "E-commerce and Internet Finance": "Cultures exchange because of diversity, learn from each other because of exchanges, and develop because of mutual learning." Therefore, I am very grateful to the organizer, organizer and w88 casino for providing us with such a good opportunity and platform on May Day that just passed, allowing me to deeply experience the distinctive Dunhuang culture that has been spread along the ancient Silk Road for more than 2,000 years. With the help of this trip, I got to know well-educated scholars, felt the enthusiasm of the local people, and saw how the local government uses culture to actively promote the economy of Gansu Province. On the first day of study, we were very honored to catch up with the opening ceremony of the "11th Dunhuang Tour Silk Road International Tourism Festival". That night, I witnessed the beauty of Chinese art, and it was also the first time that I deeply realized that "what you see on paper will eventually become shallow, but you will never know that it requires physical action." What impressed me most was the finale performance of the day: a group of international students from all over the world humming folk songs and mingling with the local ethnic groups, because at that moment I seemed to see that culture can cross ethnic groups and cross borders to integrate everyone into a community with a social destiny. Although we only stayed in Zhangye for two nights, these short two days were enough for me to feel the love of the local residents for this city. During the day, we visited the colorful Danxia. Such a moving landform is as unforgettable as God overturning a color plate. I was very fortunate to have a conversation with the local residents in the evening. Seeing them introduce the beauty of Zhangye to us with sincerity, a warm current suddenly surged into my heart. Another thing that touched me was the spirit of Yumen City Iron Man-Wang Jinxi. He said, "If there are no conditions, create conditions." This sentence left a deep impression on me. After passing Yumen, we arrived at the world-famous Dunhuang. After witnessing the magnificence of the Mogao Grottoes, I couldn't help but marvel at the wisdom of the ancients that spanned thousands of years. I really can't imagine how the murals in the 492 cave dwellings were generated without the help of any technology. Moreover, it is not an ordinary mural, but a palace-level work that brings together various dynasties and Chinese and Western civilizations. When I heard that the local research institute had begun digital protection of the Mogao Grottoes, I immediately became heartbroken, because I sincerely hope that future generations will also have the opportunity to witness the Mogao Grottoes with such cultural value. The next experience is to jump to the very hot Gobi Desert. Accompanied by Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring, I was lucky enough to try on the local Feitian costumes and record this wonderful moment through the camera of our college, Amed. The next night we also watched an exciting stage play called "Seeing Dunhuang Again". At the end of the stage play, when I saw one dynasty after another being gradually buried in the desert before my eyes, I couldn't help but sigh that human history is just a blink in this world, so we must do everything we can to digitally preserve every piece of history.
“Happy time is always short.” I am very grateful that the last 25 hours or so of the train gave us ample time to get to know each of our friends from different backgrounds. In the narrow carriage, while eating burgers, we listened to the teacher who was traveling with us this time telling us about our journey as a child. The experience of the old-fashioned train; while drinking old-fashioned yogurt, we exchanged our thoughts and experiences on this study trip with our partners. I sincerely hope that I will have the opportunity to participate in similar study activities next time. I also hope that by sharing my experience with my friends, everyone can have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and promote multilateral cultural exchanges.
2021EDWIN PRAJNA ADISTANA (Chen Aiwen), an Indonesian master's degree student majoring in "International Business and Cross-border E-commerce": I am honored to have the opportunity to visit Gansu during this trip. Since 2011, I have been to Chinese cities like Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu, Sichuan, Tianjin and Tangshan as a foreign tourist. However, I have never had the opportunity to explore the western part of China because for a foreigner there is not much information about tourist attractions in these areas. So, this trip was my first time exploring western China.
Everything here is great, from the itinerary, hotels, transportation and food. If asked what my favorite part of the trip was, I would say I really enjoyed the trip to Yumen City, where we heard the story of Wang Jinxi. Although this town is small and has few citizens, I was really surprised by the Chinese people's admiration for their heroes. This reminds me of one of the most famous quotes of Indonesia’s first president Sukarno, “Bangsa yang besar adalah bangsa yang menghargai jasa para pahlawannya”. The literal meaning in Chinese is "A great nation is a nation that appreciates their heroes." Wang Jinxi's story reminded me that life is not an easy process. Although he died young, he devoted half his life to his work. As a master's student and young entrepreneur, this "Iron Man" spirit means a lot to me, and I believe this part of the trip had the biggest impact on my career.
The rest of the trip was great too, visiting the Cantilevered Great Wall, experiencing the very famous ancient Silk Road, and other amazing sights. There are no words to express how grateful I am for this trip. I would like to thank all the organizers, teachers and friends for making this trip unforgettable. I will definitely come back to explore Gansu again!
2021NGUYEN THI LAN ANH, a Vietnamese master's degree student majoring in "International Business and Cross-border E-commerce": I would like to share with you one of the most beautiful trips in my life - "Discovering the Beauty of China - "Knowing and Doing China·Meeting in Gansu" study activity for foreign youth in China. We participated in the opening ceremony of the "11th Dunhuang Tour Silk Road International Tourism Festival". More than 10 wonderful performances gave us a deep sense of Gansu's culture and history. Zhangye has a long history, splendid culture, beautiful mountains and rivers, and simple folk customs. It is an important tourist destination on the golden tourism line of the Silk Road. I especially like the alternating layers of Danxia landform, the steep rock walls, the majestic momentum, the rich shapes and the colorful colors. We visited the Yumen Oilfield Iron Man Wang Jinxi Memorial Hall and listened to the touching story of the "Iron Man" Wang Jinxi who dedicated his life to the motherland. We were impressed by his patriotic spirit of "sharing worries for the country and striving for the nation", his selfless fighting spirit of "I would rather live 20 years shorter than to win the big oil field with all my life", and "have I was moved by the hard-working spirit of "working hard and being able to stand up to the scrutiny of future generations" and "practicing hard work and real skills for the revolution", and the dedication of "being willing to be a lifelong scalper for the party and the people". My favorite sentence of his is: "Cancer is also a paper tiger. I actively cooperate with the treatment. Please tell the doctor to treat it bravely.
