Professor Forrest first gave an overview of current French literature, and focused on interpreting two new literary phenomena emerging in the French literary world: "self-written" and "other-written". He believes that "self-written" and "other-written" are not completely opposite relationships. Professor Forrest then traced the origin and development of "self-authored" and "other-authored" French literary creation from works such as Rousseau's "Confessions", Rimbaud's "Letters of the Psychic" to Proust's "Refutation of Sainte-Beuve".

Finally, Professor Forrest started from his own creative experience and further explained the connotations of "self-written" and "other-written" through the deconstructive analysis of his own works "The Eternal Child" and "Yet". After Professor Forrest’s lecture, a question and answer session was set up to provide detailed answers to the questions involved in the lecture. Teachers and students present actively participated in exchanges and interactions, and the lecture was a complete success.
