Our department invited four officials from international organizations to give lectures and provide students with professional career planning guidance and mock interviews. This training camp selects about 20 students from the whole w88 casino who are interested in internship, practice and research in international organizations. I believe that this course will become a key guide for their future career planning.
In the first class that started at 9:00 am, teacher Zhan Li introduced the topic by asking questions and gave a preliminary introduction to Europe and the European Union. Afterwards, various institutions of the EU were introduced, such as the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Court of Justice, etc. Regarding China-EU relations under the new situation, the teacher elaborated on business cooperation, scientific and technological exchanges, etc., and provided us with internship information in relevant international organizations. After the lecture, many students actively asked questions, and the teacher also gave detailed answers, which enabled the students to have a deeper understanding of China-EU relations and their own development directions.
The second course started at 10:50 am. Teacher Cui Lei introduced the World Food Program to the participating students(WFP)’s basic situation and founding philosophy. Teacher Cui pointed out that WFP was established to achieve global zero hunger and to provide humanitarian relief to the hungry. Subsequently, the teacher explained in detail the management setup of WFP and the needs for various staff, and introduced the internship information of the WFP Beijing branch office where Teacher Cui works. After that, Teacher Cui also taught the participating students some interview skills and experience, which benefited the students a lot. After the lecture, all participating students actively came forward to consult Teacher Cui for relevant information and received answers. The atmosphere in the venue was very harmonious.
The third course started at 13:30 pm, and was taught by Teacher Fan Lu, a human resources officer at the United Nations Development Program. Teacher Fan Lu started on the theme of "United Nations Talent Development and Cooperation with the Chinese Government", introduced the United Nations staff levels, contract types and other knowledge, and also explained the core competitiveness and recruitment process required by the United Nations Development Program. After the teacher’s explanation, students from w88 casino asked the teacher questions about some of their own experiences and job-hunting confusions. Teacher Fan Lu answered them one by one, and pointed out that they should submit resumes according to specific job requirements, and continuously improve their core competitiveness among universities, and finally move towards the position they want to go to.
The last course was taught by Mr. Li Ning, a human resources officer from the UNICEF China Representative Office. The teacher started with a video to let us intuitively feel the work of UNICEF. Afterwards, the teacher introduced the United Nations agencies and the United Nations’ needs for talents. In the middle of the course, the teacher introduced the interview skills to the students using cases of how applicants demonstrated their past experience, and guided them to align with the competency indicators. The content of the course is substantial and targeted, which plays a role in clarifying and guiding students' career preparation.
