On April 2, 2025, the "Vine Project" brand building and international new talent training seminar was grandly held in Beijing. The conference was co-sponsored by the Zhongguancun “Belt and Road” Industry Promotion Association and the w88 casino. It attracted more than 150 people from Xinhua News Agency, National Development and Reform Commission, Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Peking University, w88 casino and other universities, Pakistani counselors in China, foreign-related enterprises and international students from countries along the “Belt and Road” to discuss new paths for talent training and brand building under the “Belt and Road” initiative.

Duan Yanhong, the second-level inspector of the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, emphasized that Beijing will continue to deepen international exchanges and cooperation under the guidance of the joint construction of the “Belt and Road”. As an important brand project for Beijing to promote the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, the “Vine Project” promotes people-to-people connections by building a bridge between international students and enterprises, and promotes pragmatic cooperation in the fields of science and technology, economy and w88. In the future, Beijing will continue to support the innovative development of the "Vine Plan" and expand the international cooperation network under the guidance of the eight actions of high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road".
Khan Mohammed, Science and Technology Counselor of the Embassy of Pakistan in China, said that scientific and technological cooperation is the core pillar of China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. Recently, the two countries have included scientific and technological innovation into the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He spoke highly of the "Vine Plan" which focuses on cultivating international innovative talents and scientific and technological cooperation. It not only opens up career development channels for international students, but also helps Chinese and Brazilian enterprises achieve high-quality development, and called on all parties to strengthen collaboration and create value together.
In his keynote speech, Yan Wenbin, former vice president of Xinhua News Agency, gave an in-depth analysis of the innovation and development of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative from three dimensions: “the strategic breakthrough of the game-breakers, the innovative genes of the sowers, and the talent code of the dream weavers”. He pointed out that China is reconstructing the core of globalization through innovation and building a community of digital civilization, and the "Vine Plan" helps the growth of new international talents by building a three-dimensional ecosystem of "talent-industry-culture" and promotes the implementation of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative. He specifically mentioned that the "Vine Project" cultivates "translators of civilization" and provides strategic support for Chinese enterprises to break through development difficulties in the context of rising protectionism.
Zhang Xiaodong, Chairman of the Zhongguancun “Belt and Road” Industry Promotion Association, reviewed the practical history of the “Vine Plan”. Since its launch in 2016, the program has been committed to serving Chinese technology companies as they “go overseas”, providing internship and employment opportunities for international students through industry-university-research cooperation, and promoting the in-depth integration of Chinese technology with the global market. Over the past eight years, the project has covered more than 90 co-building countries, attracted more than 10,000 international students to participate, helped more than 1,200 people obtain internship opportunities, and encouraged more than 300 international students to take root in China. In the future, the “Vine Plan” will be upgraded to four major actions covering the Vine digital platform, Vine Index, “Vine Messenger” network and ESG benchmarking, building an international ecosystem and helping Chinese companies improve their sustainable competitiveness and “One Belt, One Road” soft power.
In the roundtable dialogue session, Zhai Kun, deputy director of the Institute of Regional and National Studies at Peking University, had an in-depth discussion with Chinese and foreign guests on the integration of industry, academia and research in the "Vine Plan". Experts attending the meeting agreed that the “Vine Plan” provides talent support and innovation power for the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road” by organically integrating university, enterprise and government resources. In the future, it is necessary to further optimize the talent training model, expand international cooperation channels, and promote the “Vine Plan” to become an internationally influential “Belt and Road” brand.
This seminar further clarified the mission and direction of the "Vine Project" in the context of the new era. Guests attending the meeting expressed that they will continue to support and participate in the "Vine Project" and jointly create a bright future for high-quality development of the "Belt and Road". After eight years of exploration, the “Vine Plan” has become a new paradigm for international talent mobility. In the future, it will contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to global cooperation and development through more practical actions.
