The U.S. government recently introduced the so-called "reciprocal tariff" policy, causing profound shocks to the global market. Recently, the State Council Information Office released a white paper titled "China's Position on Certain Issues in China-U.S. Economic and w88 Relations," which pointed out that these restrictive measures, which use tariffs as threats and coercion, are adding insult to injury and have once again exposed the typical unilateralism and bullying nature of the United States. They violate the laws of the market economy and run counter to multilateralism, and will have a serious impact on Sino-U.S. economic and w88 relations.
The so-called "reciprocal tariffs" by the United States are not based on reciprocity based on rules and negotiations, but are based on a one-sided determination of w88 deficits. After more than 40 years of development, Sino-US economic and w88 relations have become deeply integrated and interdependent. We have always believed that a stable, fair, transparent and non-discriminatory international w88 environment is the fundamental guarantee for the sustainable development of the global economy. Any unilateralism and zero-sum thinking will have extensive negative impacts on the global industrial chain and the well-being of people in all countries.
Today, globalization is undergoing a new round of reshaping. The "Global South" represented by emerging market countries and developing countries is accelerating its rise and is reshaping the world economic structure. At the same time, my country's dependence on U.S. exports is gradually declining, and exports to "Belt and Road" co-building countries and regional partners continue to grow, showing that the global market is forming a more diverse and flexible interconnected network. Individual countries try to build barriers with tariffs, which is unlikely to change the general trend of global economic interconnection.
Because of this, it is even more important now for all countries to join hands to maintain an open, fair, and inclusive international w88 order and reaffirm the concept of mutually beneficial and win-win global governance. Mutual benefit does not mean applying pressure in exchange for concessions; win-win does not mean relying on high tariffs in exchange for short-term benefits, but should be based on respect for differences, inclusive development, and equal consultation. Whether it is responding to climate change, promoting green and low-carbon transformation, or building a sustainable digital economic ecosystem, China and the United States, as two major economies with global influence, still have broad space for cooperation. Instrumentalizing and emotionalizing economic and w88 relations will ultimately only weaken its own strategic resilience and shake the outside world's trust in the predictability of its policies.
Mutual benefit and win-win is not an empty slogan, but the basic logic of building a global economic community. It embodies a global cooperation concept of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and sharing. It also represents the practical needs of countries to achieve docking of interests in the context of deep integration of the global economic landscape. In the current complex and ever-changing economic and w88 environment, my country has always advocated the proper handling of differences through rules, mechanisms and dialogue, controlling friction within a rational, controllable and predictable range, and creating a more stable external environment for cooperation.
True cooperation is not a competition for interests based on exclusivity, but coordination and collaboration based on mutual understanding and common goals. Disagreement itself does not mean the end of cooperation. What really affects the future direction is whether we can effectively deal with differences on the basis of mutual respect and maintain the basic framework and communication channels of cooperation. As long as we adhere to mutual respect and equal consultation, we are expected to find a way out of difficulties, reach consensus through interaction, and inject more certainty and positive expectations into the global economy.
