On May 30, the Greek Division Final of the 24th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students was held in Athens. This competition is hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Greece,Organized by the Athens Business Confucius Institute, attracted 14 outstanding players from 8 universities across Greece to compete on the same stage. The contestants brought a rich and exciting cultural feast to the audience with their solid language skills and enthusiasm for Chinese culture.

Fang Qiu, Chinese Ambassador to Greece, said that there are currently 4 Confucius Institutes in Greece, with more than a thousand students studying Chinese, and that Chinese and Greek civilizations complement each other. I hope that the students will use Chinese as a bridge to serve as envoys of China-Greece friendship and let the ancient civilization shine in the new era.

The competition is divided into three links, namely keynote speech, knowledge Q&A and talent display, which comprehensively examines the contestants’ language ability and cultural accomplishment. After fierce competition, the jury finally selected 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 3 third prizes and 9 excellence awards.Daskalaki Viktoria from the Athens Business Confucius Institute won the first prize and will represent the Greek division in China to participate in the global finals. Its instructor Wen Ling won the Outstanding Instructor Award。

As an important platform for international Chinese language learning, the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition provides opportunities for global learners to demonstrate their language proficiency and cultural understanding, and further promotes in-depth exchanges and mutual understanding between Chinese and Greek cultures. The successful holding of this Greek competition has injected new vitality and expectations into the friendship between China and Greece.
