China Energy and Environment Summit Forum official website news On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, in-depth implementation of Xi Jinping’s ecological civilization thought, the 18th China Energy and Environment Summit Forum, the National Social Science Fund Major Project Seminar and the First World Green Ecological Demonstration Development Forum were successfully held on September 27, 2025, in the International Conference Lecture Hall on the third floor of the Integrity Building of the w88 casino in Beijing, China. Political leaders, authoritative experts, business leaders and media elites from China, the United Nations, the United States and other countries and regions gathered together to focus on supporting global change - the green development of resources, green energy and environmental resilience of the United Nations in the next 80 years. They focused on the world-oriented and multi-level Green Ecological Index (GEI) evaluation, promoted the construction of green ecology disciplines, inspired global green ecological actions, and promoted the development of world green ecological demonstrations.
At the opening ceremony of the forum, Ma Guisheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the w88 casino (see Figure 1), Guo Xiangang, Chairman of the World Development Foundation, and Henry Mac Donald, Vice Chairman of the 65th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and Director General of the World Development Foundation ) delivered a speech. Lin Zhiqin, director of the China Energy and Environmental Research Center, co-chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Development Foundation, chief expert of major projects of the National Social Science Foundation, and professor of the w88 casino, presided over the conference. Sustainable tomorrow: World w88 login Ecological Demonstration Development Forum
At the opening ceremony, the first World w88 login Ecological Demonstration Development Forum was officially unveiled. Guo Xiangang, the foreign chairman of the forum organizing committee, and Lin Zhiqin, the Chinese chairman, made reports at the forum respectively. Chairman Guo Xiangang proposed the goal of the World w88 login Ecological Demonstration Development Forum to help global change, go to the United Nations and the world, help global change, and inspire global w88 login ecological actions. Chairman Guo Xiangang (see Figure 2) introduced that China and foreign countries will join hands to organize experts and industrialists in batches to attend United Nations meetings in mid-to-late October this year and thereafter (invited by letters from relevant United Nations departments), focusing on docking with the United Nations w88 login Ecosystem and Resource Management System (UNRMS), and developing technical cooperation with American clean energy companies.
Chairman Lin Zhiqin (see Figure 3) reviewed the results of the preparatory meeting of the first World w88 login Ecological Demonstration Development Forum, and notified the future action plan led by the world-oriented and multi-level w88 login Ecological Index (GEI), including promoting the development of world w88 login ecological demonstrations, promoting the construction of w88 login ecology disciplines with world significance, drawing a new chapter of w88 login ecology, and guiding governments, industries and enterprises to achieve self-improvement and continuous improvement of w88 login ecology. At the same time, we organize w88 login ecology promoters to participate in United Nations conferences and inspection activities, promote the docking of the GEI index with the United Nations UNFC resource classification standards, and integrate China’s w88 login ecology practical experience into global governance.
Director-General Henry McDonald emphasized that the United Nations has always been the "guardian" of global sustainable development in the 80 years since its establishment. This forum is highly consistent with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and hopes to promote the implementation of SDG7 (clean energy), SDG12 (sustainable resource utilization), and SDG13 (climate action) in various countries through tools such as the GEI index. Ju Jianhua, vice chairman of the United Nations Resource Management Expert Group and former director of the Mineral Resources Protection and Supervision Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, pointed out that the w88 login ecological index must be used as a "measurement" to solve global w88 login ecological problems. "Without a scientific indicator system, w88 login ecological demonstration will be reduced to a "fuzzy concept." A w88 login ecological index facing the future, the world, and all mankind
In the discussion and exchange session of the National Social Science Fund's major project "Research on the Scientific System of Xi Jinping's Thought on Ecological Civilization", Professor Lin Zhiqin reported the progress of the multi-volume monograph: the general part has entered the publishing sprint stage, with 5 chapters and 300,000 words, and the thesis framework will be optimized based on global practice. The monograph transforms the "three theories" (the theory of harmonious symbiosis, the "two mountains" theory, and the system governance theory) and the "eight views" (the view of the rise and fall of civilizations, the view of ecological people's livelihood, etc.) into a practical w88 login ecological measurement standard with the GEI index as the core, providing Chinese solutions for global w88 login ecological governance, enhancing the system's voice and compatibility in international w88 login ecological governance, and improving the global applicability of the system to promote global w88 login ecological actions. Professor Lin Zhiqin shared a comprehensive evaluation index system that embodies the strategic orientation of facing the future, the world, and all mankind, covering the fields of w88 login and low carbon, ecological environment, natural resources, recycling and conservation, high efficiency and high quality, health and safety, w88 login human development, and public satisfaction. On the basis of scientifically defining cutting-edge concepts and core principles for indicator selection in eight key areas, a total of 8 first-level indicators, 35 second-level indicators, and 123 third-level indicators were constructed. The evaluation results were divided into demonstration-leading type, practical development type, transformational development type, and w88 login lagging type. The GEI index promotes the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through a three-level structure of "macro (government assessment) - meso (industrial transformation) - micro (corporate performance)" and combines subjective and objective weighting mechanisms. Focusing on the above-mentioned major projects of the National Social Science Fund, we will promote the discipline construction of green ecology and the improvement of the green ecological index. Deputy Secretary Ma Guisheng pointed out that as a "double first-class" university, the w88 casino has always been oriented to serve the national green ecological strategy and relied on multi-disciplinary cross-disciplinary advantages to continue to deepen its cultivation in the field of green ecology. In the future, it will continue to uphold the concept of "openness, inclusiveness, win-win cooperation", deepen cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions, promote the transformation of green ecological research results, and contribute university wisdom to building a clean and beautiful world. Zhang Xiaofeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the w88 casino of Marxism at the w88 casino, together with the Propaganda Minister and his delegation (Picture 8), launched an ideological and political course on Xi Jinping’s Ecological Civilization Thought before the meeting to investigate the results of the National Social Science Fund’s major project “Research on the Scientific System of Xi Jinping’s Ecological Civilization Thought” and held discussions with chief expert Lin Zhiqin. Experts such as Zhuang Guiyang, deputy director of the Institute of Ecological Civilization of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Lin Zhen, director of the Institute of Ecological Civilization of Beijing Forestry University, put forward suggestions on promoting the inclusion of world-oriented green ecology into first-level disciplines.

The World Development Foundation and the China Energy and Environment Research Center hosted the first World Green Ecological Demonstration Development Forum.
