“As a student from Macau, I am proud of the development of Macau and the strength of our motherland.” said Wu Xiaoyi, a student at Central China Normal University.
On December 20, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, said at the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland and the inauguration ceremony of the sixth government of the Macao Special Administrative Region that young people are the hope and future of Macao and a vital force in building Macao and the country.
President Xi Jinping’s important speech made many Macao students studying in the mainland feel cordial and inspiring.
Many Macao students studying in the mainland mentioned that what impressed them the most was that when President Xi Jinping arrived in Macao on a special plane on the afternoon of December 18 and delivered a speech, he hailed Macao as “the jewel in the palm of the motherland”. "This is not only a tribute to Macao's unique status and brilliant achievements, but also an expectation and entrustment to all our Macao residents." said Wen Yingyan, a student at Renmin University of China.
What touches many Macao students studying in the Mainland the most is the great success achieved by the practice of "one country, two systems" with Macao characteristics in the 25 years since Macao returned to the motherland.
“As a young person in Macau born in the 2000s, I have personally experienced Macau’s steady development and the successful practice of ‘one country, two systems’ in the 25 years since its return to the motherland, and I am proud of it.” Zeng Yawen, a master’s student at Fudan University, said.
Like Zeng Yawen, most of the Macau students interviewed were born after Macau returned to the motherland. They grew up with the growth of Macau as a "small city" and witnessed the tremendous changes brought to Macau by "one country, two systems."
“As a Macao student studying in Guangzhou, I deeply appreciate the impact of the in-depth cooperation and exchanges in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.” Huang Shengyang, who studies at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, said that in the past 25 years, with the support of the motherland, Macao has been developing rapidly in terms of economy, people’s livelihood and technology. Zhou Zirong, who is also studying at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, said that as a native of Macau, he feels very proud to see Macau gradually develop into an international metropolis.
Liang Jiaqian, a master’s student at Fudan University, believes that with the support of the state, Macao has gradually developed into an important platform for Sino-Portuguese economic and w88 cooperation, building a bridge for economic and w88 exchanges and cultural exchanges between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. This is not only a reflection of Macao’s unique status, but also an example of the successful practice of “one country, two systems”.
“Now, every time I return to Macao during the holidays and see the rapid changes in my hometown, I feel extremely proud and proud, and full of expectations and confidence in the future.” Wu Lexi, a student at Dalian University of Technology, said that “one country, two systems” not only allows Macao to maintain long-term prosperity and stability, but also provides Macao youth with a broader space to grow into talents and display their ambitions.
“One country, two systems” has not only brought rapid development to Macao, but also shortened the distance between Macao and the mainland. "When I came to Beijing to study, although I had a lot of pressure on my studies, the care of my roommates, the friendship of my classmates, and the help of my teachers made me enjoy every minute of my time here." said Ou Yanyu, a student at Beijing Normal University.
From Macao to the mainland, these Macao students are connected to Macao on one side and the mainland on the other. The opportunity to study in the Mainland has also become a very cherished experience for them.
Fudan University student Situ Sizhi said that he not only learned a wealth of knowledge and skills, but more importantly, learned how to apply this knowledge into practice and contribute to the development of society. "I learned innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities. These will be valuable assets when I return to Macau after graduation and contribute to the economic development and social progress of my hometown."
Now, Macao students studying in the mainland have become a bridge between Macao and the mainland. “I actively participate in club activities related to Macau students to strengthen the friendship between students and help them better understand the national conditions so that they can better integrate into the overall development of the country in future development.” Huang Zhiren, a student at Fudan University, said.
President Xi Jinping proposed at the meeting to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland and the inauguration ceremony of the sixth government of the Macao Special Administrative Region that he hopes that the majority of young people will care about Macao and the country, have high aspirations and be down-to-earth, and be builders and successors of the cause of "one country, two systems", so that youth can shine in the vast world of building a strong motherland and a beautiful Macao.
Liang Huizhen, a student at the w88 casino, was deeply touched by this passage.
Not long ago, Liang Huizhen, as a "little leaf" in Macao, provided voluntary services to Chinese and foreign guests attending the 7th China International Import Expo. “The CIIE not only provides valuable learning opportunities for our Macau youth, but is also an excellent stage for us to showcase the style of Macau’s youth to the world and convey Macau’s unique charm,” she said.
Feng Jiashan, a student at Fudan University, said that during his time studying in the mainland, he deeply realized the mission and responsibility of being a young person in Macao. He hopes to apply what he has learned and develop his talents in the medical industry in the future. He also hopes to be a good builder and successor of the "one country, two systems" cause and give full play to the power of Macao youth. "The motherland has always been our strong backing. I believe Macao will go more steadily and further in the future."
