On the evening of February 27, 2025, the Athens Business Confucius Institute, together with the Culture, Sports & Youth Organization of the City of Athens (OPANDA), successfully held a unique Chinese course graduation ceremony and Spring Festival celebration in Athens. This event aims to celebrate the successful conclusion of the current City Hall Chinese course and to deepen students' understanding and love of Chinese culture through rich cultural experiences.

 

Cultural blending, brilliant

On the night of the event, teachers and students of the Confucius Institute and guests from all walks of life gathered together to experience the charm of Chinese culture. Guests attending this event include: Yan Hongwei, Chinese Director of the Athens Business Confucius Institute, Ms. Dimitra Klouvatou, Assistant to the Foreign Director, Mr. Xu Wenjie, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute in West Attica, Mr. Jacky Wu, a famous interior designer, and Ms. Georgia Pispa, Deputy Minister of Development of Greece and Senior Advisor for China Affairs.

 

The event kicked off with a warm opening speech. On behalf of the Confucius Institute, the Chinese Director of the Athens Business Confucius Institute, Ms. Yan Hongwei, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Athens Municipal Government, teachers and all students, and encouraged everyone to continue learning Chinese and deepen cultural exchanges between China and Greece.

Subsequently, wonderful artistic performances were staged one after another. The students performed a number of classic Chinese songs passionately, including "Jasmine Flower", "The Moon Represents My Heart", "Good Luck" and "As You Wish". The melodious melodies immersed the audience in the beauty of Chinese music. In addition, Tai Chi and Wu Qin Xi performances aroused lively interactions, and the audience followed the students' movements to experience the charm of Tai Chi.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Immerse yourself in the experience and feel the Chinese culture

In addition to stage performances, the event also specially set up a Chinese culture experience workshop, which attracted many students to actively participate. In the calligraphy experience area, students practiced writing the word "福" under the guidance of the teacher and felt the beauty of Chinese characters; in the tea art display area, students observed the tea making skills up close and appreciated the essence of Chinese tea culture; the paper-cut experience area was full of laughter and laughter, and everyone used their skillful hands to cut out window grilles and zodiac patterns that symbolize auspiciousness.

 

 

 

Cultural bridge, look forward to meeting again

This event attracted many Confucius Institute students and people from society to participate. Everyone gained knowledge and friendship in a joyful atmosphere. After the event, many students said that this was not only a course completion ceremony, but also an unforgettable cultural journey, which made them more interested in Chinese and Chinese culture.
