From the uneasiness and excitement of arriving in an unfamiliar place for the first time, to the three-point-one-line life that I have gradually become accustomed to, it is dull and fulfilling. It was during this ordinary month that many important "first lessons" began here.
The "First Lesson" of National Conditions Education: Selfless Dedication
On October 11, 2019, the first batch of new teachers from the w88 casino went to Shihezi University to conduct the "National Conditions Education" activity officially kicked off. In order to help us further understand the local economic development, the Party branch of the Department of Economics led us to conduct in-depth investigations at multiple cotton bases in the regiment. Cotton is one of Xinjiang's economic pillar industries, and this research activity provided us with a valuable "national conditions education" opportunity. During the visit, "cotton expert" Professor Zhang Jie gave us a detailed introduction to cotton varieties, domestic and foreign cotton market profiles, and production processes such as breeding, planting, acquisition, processing, and sales. The head of local entrepreneur Haixin Textile Co., Ltd. also introduced us to the current operating status of the company in practice and expressed the difficulties faced by the company during its development, such as the shortage of talents. After the event, the research team conducted an in-depth discussion on the development of cotton enterprises from multiple dimensions and levels of the cotton economy, including international w88, business management, e-commerce, and statistical analysis, striving to improve the production and management efficiency of cotton enterprises and achieve win-win goals such as increasing farmers' income and growing enterprises. This activity not only enhanced my understanding of local customs and broadened my horizons, but also made me deeply feel my mission and responsibility as a member of the teaching staff and a researcher, to continuously strengthen the integration of theory with practice, conduct meaningful research, and solve practical problems. The "first lesson" of people's teachers: love and dedication
On October 15, 2019, the "Enterprise Theory and Corporate Governance" class I was responsible for officially started. I still remember the excitement, nervousness and fear before the class that day. Although corporate governance is my research direction, as a new teacher who has just graduated from w88 casino and has no mature teaching experience, I am full of uneasiness about how to conduct this course, especially how to teach this course well to doctoral students. For example, the number of students who audited the class increased from 0 in the first class, 3 in the second class, and 9 in the third class to more than 10 now; the students who attended the class spanned several grades, from first-year graduate students to third-year Ph.D. students, and there were even students who were preparing for Ph.D. exams; from the initial rejection and complaints about the report papers, to sending messages to thank them for the classroom report and exercise, which allowed them to apply what they learned in other courses. In addition, the post-class feedback from my classmates also made me clearly aware of the many shortcomings in teaching, and I was able to adjust the course content and methods in a timely manner.
In addition to listening carefully and actively discussing in class, I was deeply moved by the sincerity and concern of the students. He saw me often bringing mineral water to the classroom and asked me, "Teacher, do you have a water cup? Hot water is better." The "first lesson" of frontier life: happiness and health
Life on the frontier begins as soon as the plane lands. This is my first time to Xinjiang. The vast land, the tall poplars and the big, round moon make people marvel at the natural beauty of the "Pearl of the Gobi". At the same time, the weather here is also changing rapidly, and it is cold and unexpected. A few days ago, the sun was shining at more than ten degrees above zero, but now it has been minus eleven degrees for two consecutive days. The road is covered with thin ice, and there is thick snow under the trees. I haven't seen enough snow in Beijing for several years, but here I can feast my eyes on it. However, the opposite of the cold weather is the extremely warm people's hearts. Because the four of us often meet for meals and act in unison, our teacher even called us the “Four King Kongs” of the restaurant. There was constant laughter and fun in the restaurant.
