[Editor's Note] Reminiscing about the past, the years are full of vicissitudes; a century of great achievements is the prime time of prosperity. It is the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China. Looking back on the 100-year history of the Party, we sigh at the great ups and downs of the journey and feel that the original sincerity of the sons and daughters of the Party has only grown stronger over time. ——Remember my education story

International College Sun Hong

Dear leaders and colleagues, hello everyone!

I am honored to have the opportunity to share my education story with you. General Secretary Xi Jinping said in a discussion with teachers and students of Beijing Normal University in 2014: "A good teacher must have ideals and beliefs, moral sentiments, solid knowledge, and a heart of kindness." Starting from these expectations of the General Secretary for teachers, combined with my actual work and teaching practice, I would like to report the following aspects to you:

1. Love and patience build teacher ethics.

The sacred mission of teachers is not only to open the door of students’ wisdom with academic attainments, but also to guide students’ hearts with personality charm. Teachers must have noble ideal sentiments and a heart of kindness. This is the soul of the teacher's work. When I first started working, there was an Algerian student in my class who came to a foreign country for the first time. He had a poor foundation in Chinese, coupled with his introverted personality, he was always in a low mood, which affected his normal life and study. In order to help him adapt to the new environment as soon as possible, I often paid more attention to and encouraged him in his study and life. Soon his Chinese improved a lot and he became more cheerful. On Women’s Day that year, this student specially chose a vase to give to me and told me in fluent Chinese: “In our country, this day is all about giving gifts to mothers. Thank you teacher! "This incident made me feel the noble significance of the work of teachers as a new teacher.

There is another American student. When he was first assigned to my class, his Chinese foundation was much worse than that of other students in the class. I once offered to stay a little longer after class to help him lay the foundation, but the student felt bad about delaying the teacher's rest time. Once after class, I happened to go to the international student dormitory with this student. We walked and talked all the way and helped him digest the things he didn't understand in class. The student gained a lot. From then on, every day after class, I would happen to "drop by" to the dormitory building. In this way, we both learned while walking. After a semester of perseverance, he has become the student with the best Chinese proficiency in the class. He is Louis, who once served as the Secretary-General of our International Alumni Association. He later obtained a doctorate from w88 casino with outstanding results and did a lot of outstanding work to promote the University of International w88. No matter how much I pay, as long as I can see the growth and progress of students, I will always feel an indescribable joy in my heart.

2. Rigorous study and training.

This is what the General Secretary said that a good teacher must have solid knowledge. Solid knowledge is the foundation for teachers to settle down and make a living. If teachers want to stand firm on the three-foot podium, they must be willing to spend a lot of effort preparing lessons and organize each class carefully. Teaching Chinese as a foreign language is a special course. We are faced with a "little United Nations" with varying levels of Chinese proficiency and cultural backgrounds. It is not easy to take this course well. I prepare carefully every time. The class has a large capacity, fast pace, high efficiency, and lots of interactions. I strive to maximize the effect of the short 45-minute class. When I first set foot on the Chinese teaching platform, I set rules for my students. The class bell was a signal, and students who were late were not allowed to enter the class. Some teachers are worried that this will affect class attendance. However, after persisting for several semesters, I found that students all arrived on time, the attendance rate was surprisingly high, and the classroom atmosphere was also very good. Once, an international student was accidentally late and did not dare to come in at the classroom door. He insisted on standing outside the door to listen to the class and waited until recess before coming in. This scene happened to be seen by Mr. Zhu Chengqi, the teaching supervisor at the time. I believe that as a teacher, you must have the confidence to set rules for students, and you need to be hard-working. Only with solid knowledge and a rigorous and self-disciplined work style can teachers educate, influence, and guide students.

3. Responsible for innovation and development.

The responsibility and mission of Chinese language teachers is not only to teach Chinese well and impart knowledge, but also to spread the voice of China well, tell Chinese stories well, cultivate people who know China, are friendly to China and love China, and serve major national strategies. During my nearly twenty years of teaching, I have become deeply aware of the great responsibility I shoulder. In my classroom, for more than ten years, I have insisted that students at each level go deep into the real life in China and conduct a special research "China in My Eyes". Through this practical activity, international students not only improved their language skills, but also eliminated many misunderstandings about China, gained a better understanding of China, and re-recognized and understood China. The COVID-19 epidemic that started raging around the world last year has made our Chinese teaching face unprecedented difficulties. Faced with this new challenge, my colleagues and I overcame the difficulties of tight time and heavy tasks, working overtime until early in the morning every day to prepare lessons. According to the characteristics of online communication and teaching, we constantly adjusted the teaching plan to provide high-quality online learning courses for international students around the world. Judging from the feedback from students, our efforts have not been in vain.

After graduating from Beijing Normal University in 2002, I came to the University of Shanghai to engage in teaching Chinese to international students. I have been at the forefront of teaching for 19 years now. Looking back on the 19 years of international Chinese education, there have been difficulties, hardships, and frustrations, but more importantly, there have been gains and growth. As an ordinary member of the hundreds of teachers at the University of International w88 and Economics, I just fulfilled my duty as a teacher. I would like to take this opportunity to express my special thanks to my leaders and colleagues for their enthusiastic help. I would also like to express my gratitude to my students for achieving and growing together with me. With the development of the times, international Chinese language education has been innovating and changing. I will definitely not forget my original intention, keep my mission in mind, continue to fulfill my sacred duty as an international Chinese language teacher with full responsibility and responsibility, promote the sustainable development of Chinese language education with professionalism and enthusiasm, tell vivid and wonderful Chinese stories to the world with kindness and actions, and dedicate my life's efforts to the cause of international Chinese language education.
