November 3ToOn the 5th, the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was successfully held in the capital Beijing, marking that China-Africa friendly relations have entered a new historical stage.
Throughout history, China and Africa both have a long history and splendid civilizations. Both have the same or similar bloody battles for national independence and national liberation. Both are developing countries, and both face common development goals and tasks, as well as common interests and demands for peace, development, and cooperation. All these have enabled China and Africa to reach a consensus on many major issues involving world peace and development.2006 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between New China and African countries. In the past 50 years, China has gone from being economically backward to basically achieving moderate prosperity and actively moving towards the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation; Africa has gone from being deeply exploited and colonially oppressed to becoming independent and accelerating its economic development; the two sides have joined forces to help each other, cooperated closely in international affairs, and made indelible contributions to safeguarding the interests of developing countries and safeguarding world and regional peace. At the same time, the friendly relations between China and Africa have also been sublimated through mutual help and support.
The Chinese people will never forget,In 1971, the United Nations passed a resolution to restore the People's Republic of China's legal seat in the United Nations. Among the 131 member states of the United Nations, 76 voted in favor, 26 of which came from African countries. African countries have given firm support to China on many issues such as its bid for the Olympic Games, its bid for the World Expo, and the election of international organizations. At the same time, the Chinese people also firmly support African countries' efforts to strive for national independence, develop national economies and maintain peace and stability. In international affairs, China dares to speak up for Africa, respects Africa's demands, and supports Africa's ideas and positions. China and Africa maintain close cooperation through international agencies such as the United Nations Development Program, UNHCR, and FAO. More than 3,000 Chinese officers and soldiers have gone to Africa to carry out United Nations peacekeeping missions and have become the guardian envoys of peace in Africa. It can be said that China-Africa international cooperation based on equality, mutual benefit and mutual respect has achieved outstanding results and is full of vitality.
The Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation coincides with the opening of diplomatic relations between China and African countriesConvened on the occasion of the 50th anniversary, it will become a platform for China and African countries to deepen mutual understanding and promote cooperation between the two sides in political, economic and other fields. The two outcome documents "Beijing Action Plan (2007-2009)" established the development of a new strategic partnership between China and Africa, made a comprehensive plan for China-Africa cooperation in the next three years, and further deepened the friendly cooperative relations of equality, mutual trust, mutual benefit and win-win. This Beijing Summit is a milestone for China-Africa cooperation and a new starting point for the future of China-Africa relations.
The successful convening of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation shows that China is willing to work together with African countries to get rid of poverty as soon as possible, share the fruits of development, and move towards common prosperity. The harmonious development of Africa and China-Africa relations will surely provide a powerful impetus for the harmonious development of the world. China, the largest developing country in the world, and Africa, which has the largest concentration of developing countries, will develop harmonious and friendly cooperative relations and will surely make new and greater contributions to building a harmonious world.
Currently, The international situation is undergoing major changes and adjustments. China and African countries are both developing countries. They have many problems in their own development and face many challenges on the way forward. However, we should also see that the convergence of interests between China and Africa is increasing, and the complementarity of cooperation is increasing. At the new historical starting line, pursuing peace, promoting development, and seeking cooperation have become the most urgent strategic choices for China and Africa. We firmly believe that China-Africa cooperation is sincere cooperation based on equality and mutual benefit. It is a model of South-South cooperation and has a bright future. The West accuses China of promoting "neo-colonialism" in Africa and promoting the "China threat theory", which is pure nonsense. In the past, China-Africa relations have been continuously deepened and expanded after half a century of ups and downs. Today, we are convinced that China and Africa are all-weather good friends, good partners of sincere cooperation, and good brothers who share the same brotherhood. In the new development process, China and Africa will once again stare at each other through this Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. The common destiny, common goals, and common future will surely make China and Africa more determined to work together.
