w88 casino News Network (provided by the w88 casino of Foreign Languages)Recently, the National Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Office announced the completion status of a new batch of National Social Science Fund projects. The "Research on the Transformation and Evolution of Contemporary Arab Literature" undertaken by Professor Yu Yuping from the Department of Arabic Languages of the w88 casino of Foreign Languages ended with excellent results.

“Research on the Transformation and Evolution of Contemporary Arab Literature” is a National Social Science Fund project hosted and independently completed by Professor Yu Yuping. This topic studies contemporary Arab literature since the Third Middle East War (Six-Day War) in 1967, explores the transformation and evolution of contemporary Arab poetry and novel discourse after this historical event that led to a huge turning point in Arab society and ideological fission, and analyzes the efforts of Arab literature in rebuilding a space of cultural resistance in the context of post-colonial and globalization. In addition to the introduction, conclusion, appendix and references, the main text is divided into two parts, with a total of five chapters.

In terms of research methods, this topic insists on conducting literary research from the literary text itself, juxtaposing macroscopic discussion and microscopic analysis, and promoting literary criticism with specific "original empirical evidence". When conducting text analysis, a method of combining text close reading with cultural research is adopted, taking into account the artistic aesthetics and social functionality of literature, in order to overcome the pan-politicization tendency of cultural research. We insist on paying equal attention to the internal and external research of literature, and unify the research of "content" and "form". In the specific interpretation of texts, we implement this principle in the whole process from the screening and reading of texts to the analysis and evaluation, striving to achieve the effect of observing fire through the power of insight.

The main innovation of this research is that it uses cultural "resistance politics" to examine the transformation and evolution of contemporary Arab literature. It not only takes into account the nationalist tendencies of Arab literature, but also covers topics such as modernity, identity, crossover, hybridity, and gender politics. These phenomena are not only prominent manifestations of the transformation and evolution of contemporary Arab literature, but also the focus of global contemporary literary research, thus effectively bringing contemporary Arab literature into the perspective of world literature.

The final result of this project is a monograph with more than 300,000 words. When the project was approved and completed, coupled with the preliminary results when applying for the project, 16 related papers have been published in formal academic journals at home and abroad, including 7 CSSCI core journal papers, which were published in "Foreign Literature Review", "Foreign Literature Research", "Foreign Literature Dynamic Research", "Reading" and other authoritative academic journals in the domestic literature and culture research field. The content of the paper covers various chapters of the project results. The intensive publication of phased results more convincingly proves the cutting-edge nature of the research on this topic and the quality of the research results.

Since 2008, the Department of Arabic Language has been applied for by Ge Tieying, Zou Lanfang, Ding Long, Yu Yuping, and Huang Hui respectively, and has received 5 National Social Science Fund projects, which fully reflects the scientific research level of Arabic language professional teachers. At present, 4 projects have been successfully completed, and 1 excellent, 1 good and 2 exempted from appraisal have been achieved.
