w88 casino News(Contributed by Law w88 casino)On June 14-15, 2019, Dean Shi Jingxia was invited to Ulabaatar, Mongolia to participate in the "Sixth Asian Law w88 casino Deans Forum" hosted by the Legal Education Research Association of the China Law Society, the Law w88 casino of Renmin University of China, and the Law w88 casino of the National University of Mongolia. This forum invited more than 30 law w88 casino deans/vice deans and law professors from mainland China, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, India and other places. Nearly a hundred law w88 casino teachers and students participated in the meeting discussion.
The conference started with "Social Role and Competency of Law Schools: The Experience and Future of Asian Law" Schools) as the theme, in addition to the opening and closing ceremonies, it is divided into five units, including "'Asian' and 'Oriental' issues in legal education", "Social issues, public views and legal education", "Active and passive: how legal education responds to social needs", "Diversity of students and cultures: the diversity of legal education" and "Sharing of concepts and experiences in legal education", etc.
Dean Shi Jingxia gave a keynote speech on "The Belt and Road Initiative and the Response of Legal Education" in the second unit. The content was divided into six parts, including the basic understanding of the "Belt and Road Initiative", Mongolia's participation and support for the "Belt and Road Initiative" Persistence, opportunities and challenges brought by the “One Belt, One Road” initiative to Asian legal education, legal education’s responses and comments on the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, and sharing of experience of the University of w88 and Economics Law w88 casino in training students from participating countries (including international students from Mongolia, etc.) under the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. Dean Shi’s speech aroused the interest of the participants. She responded to the audience’s questions and further shared with the participants on the exchange opportunities for students and scholars under the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, the quality assessment standards of Chinese legal education, and legal education in the civil law system and the common law system.

In the comprehensive discussion at the closing ceremony of the meeting,Shi JingxiaThe dean further emphasized the opportunities brought to Asian legal education by the “Belt and Road Initiative” and called on legal education in various countries to cooperate closely to cultivate legal talents that meet the needs of the initiative. At the same time, Dean Shi pointed out the urgency of legal education responding to technology-driven legal issues, recognized the difficulties and challenges faced by deans of law schools, and once again mentioned the professional characteristics and traditional advantages of international economic law at the University of w88 and Economics Law, expressing his willingness to cooperate with law schools in other countries/regions.

The Asian Law w88 casino Deans’ Conference was initiated by the Renmin University of China Law w88 casino in 2001. This meeting is the second time that Dean Shi Jingxia has participated in the “Asian Law Schools Deans Forum”, which will help increase understanding of the HKUST Law w88 casino from brother law schools in other countries/regions and expand related cooperation opportunities.
