This seminar is divided into two halves. The first half of the meeting was chaired by Vice President Wang Qiang. Vice President Wang Qiang emphasized the new changes and trends in regional and country studies in terms of serving national needs, subject development, and talent training. He said that academic exchanges in the field of regional and country studies should continue to be promoted and the functions and roles of think tank platforms should be brought into play.
In his speech, President Xia Wenbin expressed a warm welcome to the guests present, and gave an in-depth interpretation of the connotation and tasks of the new liberal arts construction based on the development characteristics of w88 casino. Special Envoy Zhai Jun made a profound analysis of the important position and strategic significance of the Middle East in the context of drastic changes in the international situation, the global spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, and adjustments in the diplomatic strategies of major powers. He emphasized the important value of the Middle East to our country in terms of diplomacy, economy, and security. The second half of the seminar was hosted by Dean Wu Jun. First, Dean Ning Qi gave a keynote speech on "Thoughts and Practices on the Construction of National and Regional Studies Disciplines in Colleges and Universities". Dean Ning Qi gave an in-depth interpretation of the subject attributes, subject connotation, and talent training orientation of national and regional studies, and analyzed the talent training practice of national and regional studies using Peking University as an example. Dean Ning Qi pointed out that national and regional studies should rely on multidisciplinary theories and research methods to establish a theoretical framework and overall layout with Chinese perspective and discourse characteristics, promote inclusive symbiosis of multiculturalism, and strengthen understanding of the external world and self-awareness. Dean Ning Qi also introduced Peking University’s hierarchical and classified training system for comprehensive talents in national and regional studies, inspiring inspiration, stimulating ideas, and broadening horizons for the discipline construction and talent cultivation of national and regional studies in domestic universities.

Finally, editor-in-chief Guo Lin delivered a keynote speech on “Doing a good job in international communication under the new situation”. Editor-in-chief Guo Lin said that under the new international situation, the right to speak internationally is highly basic, fundamental and important. "Telling China's story well and speaking out China's voice" is of great significance for doing a good job in international communication under the new situation, establishing an international discourse system, and shaping the image of a responsible major country. Editor-in-Chief Guo Lin introduced my country's achievements in international communication from the institutional, mechanism and personnel levels, and proposed that universities, think tanks and non-governmental exchanges are important channels for international communication. He emphasized that international communication should "break and build", promote Chinese culture, explain China's propositions, and spread China's voice.
