How competition affects innovation has been known since Schumpeter (1942), it is a decisive factor affecting long-term economic growth. In recent years, it has once again become a hot topic in academic and policy research. Four different theoretical mechanisms emerged, namely Schumpeter effect, competitive escape effect, preference effect and factor trap effect. Empirical studies based on different countries have also found significant heterogeneity in the impact (Shu and Steinwender, 2019). Import competition is more complex than domestic market competition. It not only has competitive effects, but also has potential cross-border technology spillover effects, which is the fifth potential mechanism.
This article systematically studies the relationship between China's import competition and corporate innovation. On the one hand, it introduces spillover effects into the standard w88 model, allowing companies to make endogenous choices on product quality, and establishes a theoretical model of competition and innovation that includes spillover effects. On the other hand, add ChinaWTOAs a quasi-natural experiment (a quasi-natural experiment), explores the impact of the level of tariff-based w88 liberalization on corporate innovation, and conducts an empirical test on the above five different theoretical mechanisms. For example, import competition may damage basic corporate innovation; but at the same time, the entry of multinational manufacturers will bring greater spillover effects to the innovation of domestic companies, especially in new design innovations. Although social media has been widely used by government agencies around the world, it remains unclear whether social media use can help local governments improve citizen compliance, especially during times of crisis. Discussion of this issue becomes even more important during the COVID-19 epidemic. The key to fighting the epidemic crisis is the degree of citizens' cooperation with government policies. How to quickly, effectively and cost-effectively improve citizens' trust in government authority and improve citizens' compliance with policies such as home quarantine has become a public management research issue with the most practical value and application significance.
The study first uses a double fixed effects model to verify the impact of information content on local government social media on citizens’ policy compliance. The study further found that the posts published by local governments included the two major themes of local crisis situations, preventive measures, and policies. The latter mainly acted as an intermediary mechanism for the above-mentioned causal effects, and the former did not have a significant impact. Finally, the study examines the heterogeneous impact of local government social media posts on citizen compliance in different cities. The study found that per capitaGDPIn cities that are taller, have better educated citizens, and have wider Internet coverage, government social media posts about the new coronavirus epidemic have a greater impact on citizen compliance.

Technology-driven cooperative supply of public services in the digital ecosystem (Technology-Enabled Co-Production) is result-oriented, data-oriented and demand-oriented. Summarizing the forward-looking thinking of existing literature, digital technology has revolutionized the cooperative supply and equalization of public services from three dimensions. First, the matching relationship between public service demand and supply has shifted from a wide-caliber comparison between regional expenditure levels to a smaller-caliber and precise matching at the individual level. Correspondingly, the fairness value of service equalization shifts from group fairness to individual fairness that can be perceived and measured. Secondly, the correspondence between technical logic and governance logic converts different interfaces and different forms of governance fields into the same interface, forming a "Connectivity Governance” builds application scenarios with heterogeneous resource dependencies and high integration. The past linear resource exchange relying on different interfaces has been transformed into multi-agent cross-resource exchange with a holistic interface, providing more possibilities for collaboration-based innovation. When discussing the equalization of public services at a smaller community level, we face two problems: how to solve the problem of financial gaps/insufficiencies from a resource perspective, and how to transform resource input into high-quality public services (matching) that meet the needs of the community and enhance the sense of gain.
Existing case studies on the cooperative supply and equalization of public services mostly ignore the implicit condition and premise of sustainability of financial resources, and therefore have limitations in applicability. The scope of this research is limited to the equalization of universal non-basic public services, which can cover and highlight the two traditional factors of insufficient financial resources and associated insufficient supply of public services. Improving the quantity and matching of public service supply is a common digital empowerment issue in existing research, but we should explore digital in a progressive wayThe “creation” on top of “empowerment”, that is, solving the lack of financial resources, has not received more in-depth attention.
This study uses the case of cooperative supply of public services based on smart community platforms to exploratoryly analyze the mechanism of digital empowerment in grassroots collaborative innovation, and the mechanism of solving uneven resource allocation and insufficient service supply through value co-creation led by financial institutions at the community level. Research found: (1) The holistic interface of the panoramic digital platform builds an application scenario for interaction between value co-creation entities and resource integration. (2) High-frequency public services on digital interfaces can strengthen the dependence of heterogeneous resources, reduce the externality of value co-creation, and form an internal network for value-added sharing. (3) Relying on the value co-creation of digital platforms can provide more matching public services and alleviate the gap in equalization of public services at the community level.

Global medical expenses have continued to increase in the past few decades. One of the important reasons is the aging of the global population. It is foreseeable that as the global population ages, medical expenses will continue to grow in the future. China is also facing the problem of aging. China has entered an aging society as early as the early 2000s and has become the country with the largest elderly population. Our country has officially implemented the policy of delaying the retirement age to alleviate the impact and pressure brought by aging on society and the economy. However, we need to note that the impact of retirement policies on the social economy is complex. Corresponding policy adjustments may have positive effects but may also have negative effects. For example, providing more generous pension security for retirees and medical security while improving the quality of elderly care may bring about problems such as moral hazard or waste of medical resources, and the impact on different groups of people will be different. Therefore, in-depth research on the impact and mechanism of retirement policies has important policy significance.
In this regard, this study uses the medical insurance reimbursement data of a representative city in China, taking advantage of the exogenous characteristics of retirement policy, and adopts the fuzzy discontinuity regression design method to study the impact of retirement on the utilization of medical services for the elderly and analyze the potential mechanism. For medical service utilization, we mainly measured it from the total annual medical expenditure, total medical expenditure for outpatient and inpatient services, and the number of medical visits. We found that retirement has a significant promoting effect on the elderly's medical service utilization in the short term, and the increase in medical service utilization is mainly due to the increase in the number of outpatient visits. We did not find an effect of retirement on inpatient care utilization. In addition, this article explores the mechanism of the impact of retirement on medical service utilization. We find that reduced opportunity costs of time after retirement, lower medical prices, and supply-side induced demand may be the main mechanisms, while the health mechanism is relatively weak. Based on the empirical results of this article, we believe that by controlling the cost of a single medical visit while controlling the total annual cost, and using the gatekeeper system to reduce unnecessary medical visits, we can more effectively control the increase in medical costs after retirement.

The relationship between environmental regulation and transnational investment has always attracted academic attention, but no consistent conclusion has been reached for a long time.201322158_22227OFDI) As one of the most typical transnational economic activities, it is an important part of my country’s “going out” strategy. In recent years, both the stock and net amount of my country’s foreign direct investment have shown a steady upward trend. In the context of the continuous strengthening of environmental regulations and the rapid development of foreign direct investment, it is worth exploring whether my country's foreign direct investment is affected by the strengthening of domestic environmental regulations. This article uses our country30provincial administrative units2010—2019panel data, using the carbon emissions trading pilots carried out in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Tianjin, Hubei, Chongqing and Fujian as a quasi-natural experiment, using the double difference method (DID) studied whether the carbon emissions trading pilot has an impact on my country’s foreign direct investment. The research conclusion shows that the carbon emissions trading pilot has significantly promoted my country’s foreign direct investment. Furthermore, through the discussion of potential mechanisms, this article finds that the carbon emissions trading pilot satisfies the "Pollution Refuge Hypothesis" and the "Porter Hypothesis", thereby promoting the improvement of my country's foreign direct investment level. Through a preliminary discussion of the net effect, this article finds that the “pollution haven hypothesis” still dominates. This article has two main contributions: (1) provides empirical evidence for the relationship between environmental regulation and foreign direct investment, and verifies that environmental regulation can significantly affect foreign direct investment; (2) At present, the innovation incentive effect exerted by my country's environmental regulations is still insufficient, and it is unable to achieve a win-win situation of improving the ecological environment and promoting economic transformation.
