Facing the new situation and new tasks, the Ministry of Commerce will base its business work on the "three important" positions, promote a higher level of opening up to the outside world, continuously expand the "circle of friends", deepen regional cooperation, and actively participate in the reform of the WTO.
Wang Wentao emphasized that this year marks the founding of the Communist Party of China100th anniversary. The Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee comprehensively summarized the party's major achievements and historical experience over the past century and specifically mentioned China's accession to the WTO. President Xi Jinping’s keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 4th CIIE systematically reviewed China’s 20 years of joining the WTO, clearly expounded on the proposition of promoting global openness, and clearly proposed the next steps to expand opening-up. It pointed out the way forward and provided fundamental guidelines for our work. We must be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, insist on promoting reform, development and innovation through opening up, and make due contributions as businessmen in the new era and new journey.
