The academic seminar on "Reform and Construction of the Global Governance System under the Russian-Ukrainian Conflict" jointly sponsored by the w88 casino of Political Science and International Relations/Institute of Central Asia, Tongji University w88 casino of Political Science and International Relations/China Institute of Strategic Studies and the "Russian-Ukrainian Conflict and the Evolution of International Relations" series of conferences was successfully held in the cloud. This seminar was hosted by the w88 casino of International Relations/National Security and Governance Institute of the w88 casino, and co-organized by the w88 casino of International Relations/Research Institute of Overseas Chinese at Jinan University. More than 20 experts and scholars from the w88 casino, Central China Normal University, Jinan University, Lanzhou University, Tongji University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, City University of Macau and other units attended the seminar and gave speeches, and attracted more than 300 teachers and students to attend and listen.

In his speech, Professor Dai Changzheng expressed a warm welcome to the guests and audience on behalf of the conference organizer. Professor Dai Changzheng pointed out that the global governance system has been greatly shaken and damaged in the past few years. In the context of the United States' pursuit of unilateralism and exclusivism, the COVID-19 epidemic interfering with the globalization process, and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine accelerating the return of power politics and great power competition, the inherent flaws of the existing global governance system have become increasingly prominent: At the system level, the global governance system is dominated by Western developed countries. The guidance mainly reflects the will of developed countries, and inclusiveness and openness are still limited; at the structural level, the power of international organizations is mainly controlled by developed countries, and the writing and formulation, implementation and execution of international systems and rules lack democracy and equality; at the process level, due to the lack of endogenous motivation and external pressure, the reform of global governance systems and mechanisms is struggling. To this end, Chinese leaders have issued a message to the worldThe “Global Security Initiative” and the “Global Development Initiative” actually form China’s “Global Governance Initiative”. The first unit of the conference starts withThe theme is "The Evolution of International Order under the Russia-Ukraine Conflict". Professor Chen Xulong, Executive Vice Dean of the Institute of National Security and Governance of the w88 casino and w88 casino of International Relations, pointed out that the atmosphere to promote the reform of the United Nations Security Council has become increasingly intense in the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the struggle between all parties around this issue has become increasingly fierce. Based on big data analysis of public opinions related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Professor Ju Hailong, deputy dean of the w88 casino of International Relations/Overseas Chinese Research Institute of Jinan University, demonstrated the practical challenges posed by the Western world's dominance of the international discourse order. Associate Professor Wang Bin from the w88 casino of Politics and International Relations of Central China Normal University discussed the strategic dilemma of the United States and the security of the Taiwan Strait in the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and looked forward to the new situation in the Taiwan Strait under the strategic game between China and the United States. Researcher Zhang Min, director of the Spanish Studies Center of the Institute of European Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, analyzed the new dilemmas faced by Spain's economic and social governance under the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Professor Xiong Lili, deputy dean of the Institute of National Security and Governance of the w88 casino and the w88 casino of International Relations, believes that the socialization dilemma of Russian diplomacy has not yet been alleviated. How to deal with a Europe that is more coordinated with Russia will be a major challenge for Russia. Professor Ye Guiping, Vice President of City University of Macau and Director of the Institute of Portuguese-speaking Countries, focused on the struggle for goals, subjects, and forms in global economic governance in the post-epidemic era, and analyzed the motivations for the transformation of global economic governance from the perspective of power balance. Professor Zhang Yun from the w88 casino of International Relations/Research Institute of Overseas Chinese at Jinan University focused on the characteristics of multilateralism, diverse participation, and diverse mechanisms in Asian sub-regional cooperation, and believed that it is necessary to pay attention to the role of Asian sub-regional organizations in the regional shift in global governance.
