The annual meeting includes an opening ceremony, keynote speech, roundtable forum, two special seminars and a finale speech. In the keynote speech of the conference, Yi Xiaozhun, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce and former Deputy Director-General of the WTO, summarized the three major achievements of the WTO in the 30 years since its establishment, including promoting economic globalization, promoting economic growth in developing economies, and attempting to conduct the challenging Doha Round negotiations. The theme of the discussion was "The Future of the WTO and China's Choice after Trump Returns." Ambassador Li Chenggang pointed out that the WTO is driven by 166 members who have different demands and reaching any consensus is not easy. In this regard, he believes that looking back and rereading the Marrakech Agreement 30 years ago today can still provide inspiration for bridging differences. Looking to the future, China will unite the vast majority of members in the WTO to form a broader united front and unswervingly support the stability and development of the WTO.
