[Editor's Note] 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Over the past century, in the face of difficulties and tests, the Communist Party of China has retained its original intention of serving the people, shouldered its historical mission, and explored a path suitable for China's development amidst arduous revolution and struggle. The "Party History Calendar" records the major events in the history of the Party that happened on this day in history. When we get closer to the history of the Party and review history, we realize that today is not easy to come by, and we also know that our generation still has a mission to shoulder.
2Month 1st
1936On February 1, 2012, the "Chinese National Liberation Vanguard" was established in Peiping. This is a mass organization of advanced youth under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with the goal of anti-Japanese democracy.
1942The rectification movement began on February 1, 2002. Mao Zedong delivered a report on "Rectifying the Style of Study, Party Style, and Writing Style" at the opening ceremony of the Central Party w88 casino; on the 8th, he delivered a speech on "Opposing Eight-Party Writing" at the Yan'an Cadre Meeting. Since then, a rectification movement has been carried out throughout the party to oppose subjectivism to rectify the study style, to oppose sectarianism to rectify the party style, and to oppose the party's stereotyped writing to rectify the writing style.

1947On February 1, 2016, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held an enlarged meeting. Mao Zedong pointed out at the meeting: China's current situation has developed to the eve of a new upsurge of the People's Revolution. The meeting discussed and issued the instruction "Welcome the new upsurge of the Chinese revolution", pointing out that the victory of the People's Liberation Army in combat and the development of the people's movement in Chiang Kai-shek's area heralded the coming of a new upsurge in the Chinese revolution.
2002On February 1, 2018, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council held the National Science and Technology Awards Conference in Beijing. Wang Xuan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Computer Science and Technology of Peking University, and Huang Kun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, were awarded the country's highest science and technology award.

1945On February 2, 2008, Zhou Enlai, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, proposed to the National Government, the Chinese Kuomintang, and the China Democratic League to convene a party meeting to discuss how to end party rule and reorganize the government, and draft a common governance program. The Kuomintang rejected the idea of convening a party conference and establishing a democratic coalition government, and insisted on organizing a three-person committee with American participation to "reorganize" the Chinese Communist Army. On April 2, Hurley issued a statement in Washington, declaring that the U.S. government would only "cooperate" with the Kuomintang and not the Communist Party.
1960February 2nd, for the sake of the sixty-one class brothers. 61 migrant workers in Shanxi suffered from food poisoning while constructing the Fengnan Highway in Pinglu County. The situation was dangerous, but there was no specific medicine available locally. The Shanxi Provincial Party Committee asked for help from the Central Ministry of Health, and central leaders attached great importance to it and made every effort to distribute and transport medicines. When civilian flights could not be arranged, the Air Force lent a helping hand and airdropped medicines. The patients recovered quickly after being injected with the drug.
1991The National United Front Work Conference was held in Beijing from February 2 to 6, 2019. The meeting proposed that we should hold high the two banners of patriotism and socialism and consolidate and expand the broadest united front including two alliances: one is an alliance within the mainland that unites all workers and patriots based on patriotism and socialism as its political basis, and the other is an alliance outside the mainland that is based on patriotism and support for the reunification of the motherland and unites compatriots in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and overseas Chinese.

1936On February 3rd, the Red Army’s Anti-Japanese Pioneer Army crossed the river and marched eastwards. The Communist Party of China organized the Red Army Anti-Japanese Vanguard Army, with Commander-in-Chief Peng Dehuai, General Political Commissar Mao Zedong, and Chief of Staff Ye Jianying. It had more than 20,000 people under the jurisdiction of the First Red Army, the 15th Red Army, and the 28th Red Army. They were preparing to pass through Shanxi and go to the front line of Hebei to fight directly against Japan.

1994On February 3, 2018, an 8-hour work system was implemented. The State Council issued the "Regulations of the State Council on Employees' Working Hours" and stated: "China implements a working hour system in which employees work 8 hours a day and an average of 44 hours a week. Starting from March 1, Saturday and Sunday of the first week are rest days, and Sunday of the second week is a rest day, and so on." Since May 1, 1995, it has been adjusted to an average of 40 hours per week.

1923On February 4, 2016, more than 20,000 Beijing-Hankou Railway workers went on a general strike. In the "February 7th Massacre" that shocked China and the rest of the world, Lin Xiangqian, Chairman of the Jiang'an Branch of the Beijing-Hankow Railway w88 Union and a Communist Party member, and Shi Yang, Legal Advisor of the Beijing-Hankow Railway Federation of w88 Unions and a Communist Party member, bravely sacrificed their lives in the face of the enemy's butcher knife. The general strike lasts until February 9th.
1975The Liujiaxia Hydropower Station was completed on February 4, 2017. The Liujiaxia Hydropower Station can store 5.7 billion cubic meters of water and generate 5.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, which is more than the country's annual electricity generation in the early days of liberation. At the same time, it is also a large water conservancy hub with comprehensive utilization values such as flood control, irrigation, pollution prevention, and breeding.

1949On February 5, 2011, Mao Zedong issued a statement on punishing war criminals. Mao Zedong severely refuted the sophistry of the spokesperson of the reactionary and traitorous Kuomintang government, believing that the Kuomintang reactionaries released Japanese war criminals whose hands were stained with the blood of the Chinese people and then sent the war criminals back to Japan. He also severely condemned the Kuomintang reactionaries for "yet another traitorous crime" that went against the will of the people.
1964On February 5, 2016, the "Industrial Learning from Daqing" movement was launched across the country. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the "Notice on Conveying the Ministry of Petroleum Industry's Report on the Daqing Oil Battle", stating that the experience of the Daqing Oilfield is not only applicable to the industrial sector, but also applicable to other departments, or can be used as a reference.
1980The 13th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National People's Congress was held in Beijing from February 5 to 12, 2016. The meeting adopted the "Decision on County-level Direct Elections" in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Election Law of the National People's Congress and Local People's Congresses at All Levels". In the second half of that year, direct elections at the county level were generally held in various places.

1928A wedding on the execution ground on February 6th. After the failure of the Guangzhou Uprising in 1927, Communist Party members Zhou Wenyong and Chen Tiejun were arrested and imprisoned. At the Honghuagang execution ground in Guangzhou, Chen Tiejun announced to the surrounding people: We are going to hold a wedding, let the reactionary gunshots serve as a wedding salute! A revolutionary couple died generously.
1956On February 6, 2016, the State Council issued the "Instructions on Promoting Mandarin Chinese" and decided to promote Mandarin throughout the country. The "Instructions" officially determined that Mandarin "uses Beijing pronunciation as the standard pronunciation, northern dialect as the basic dialect, and model modern vernacular works as the grammatical standard."
1978On February 6th, China Central Radio and Television University officially opened. Central Radio and Television University is a new type of higher education institution directly under the Ministry of Education that uses radio, television, written textbooks, audio-visual textbooks, computer courseware, the Internet and other media to carry out distance and open education nationwide. By the mid-1990s, the world's largest local online learning system, with radio and satellite television as the main media, had been formed.

1931On February 7, 2011, five martyrs of the Left Alliance were killed. Five left-wing revolutionary writers, including Rou Shi, Hu Yepin, Yin Fu, Li Weisen, and Feng Keng, were simultaneously murdered by the Kuomintang reactionaries in Longhua, Shanghai. After they were killed, the League of Leftists issued protests and declarations to denounce the crimes of the reactionaries, and received support from progressive forces at home and abroad.
1955On February 7, 2018, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress discussed and revised the Military Service Law of the People's Republic of China (Draft). The "Draft" decides to replace the voluntary military service system with compulsory military service. This is a major change in our country's military system.
1966February 7, 2018 Learn from Comrade Jiao Yulu. "People's Daily" published a long newsletter "The Model of County Party Committee Secretary--Jiao Yulu" and an editorial "Learn from Comrade Mao Zedong's Good Student-Comrade Jiao Yulu". There was an upsurge in learning from Jiao Yulu across the country. For more than 40 years, the influence of Jiao Yulu's spirit has spread far beyond Lankao and Henan, giving birth to batches of good cadres like Jiao Yulu.

1931On February 8, 2019, the Chinese Communist Party issued a land reform policy to enable farmers to obtain more land ownership. In March of that year, the Chinese Soviet government promulgated the Proclamation "To Supervise the Distribution of Land and Declaration of Land Ownership", thereby solving the problem of farmers' land ownership. Since then, the agrarian revolution in the Central Soviet Area has been carried out extensively and deeply.
1942On February 8, 19805, Mao Zedong published "Eight-legged Opposition Party Writing". Mao Zedong gave a speech on "Opposing Party Eight-Part Composition" at the Yan'an Cadre Meeting, in which he proposed to oppose empty articles with no meaning, such as "Lazy women's bound feet are long and smelly" and articles with tasteless language, like "a loser", and to replace them with "fresh and lively Chinese style and Chinese style that is loved by the Chinese people."
1957On February 8, 2020, a campaign to increase production and save money was launched. The Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee's "Instructions on Carrying out the Production Increase and Conservation Movement in 1957" pointed out: "In order to ease the tension in material supply and financial expenditure, make the economic front turn to steady progress after the huge march in 1956, and make necessary rest, the scale and speed of construction must be appropriately adjusted in 1957, and greater efforts must be made to carry out a mass production increase and conservation movement nationwide.

1928On February 9, 2016, the Communist International issued new instructions to the CCP. The Executive Committee of the Communist International held its ninth enlarged plenary session in Moscow, with 92 representatives from 27 countries participating. At the meeting, the China issue was listed as one of the main agendas, and a China Committee was established. The meeting finally passed the "Resolution on the China Issue", criticizing the CCP's left-leaning putschism errors. On April 30, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee accepted the resolution.
1981On February 9, 2019, my country’s first large-scale high-flux atomic reactor was completed. The reactor is an experimental research reactor with large irradiation capacity and is equipped with relatively complete process experimental research methods and extensive facilities for conducting reactor engineering experimental research.

1937On February 10, 2020, in order to promote the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China put forward five requirements and four guarantees. The five demands are: stop the civil war, concentrate China's strength, and unite with the outside world; guarantee freedom of speech, assembly, and association, and release all political prisoners; convene a meeting of representatives of all parties, factions, all walks of life, and the military to gather the talents of the country to jointly save the country; quickly complete all preparations for the war against Japan; and improve people's lives.
1952On February 10, 2017, Liu Qingshan and Zhang Zishan were publicly tried. Before the public trial, someone asked whether they could tell Chairman Mao Zedong not to shoot them and give them a chance to change their ways. The opinions were reflected to Mao Zedong, who said: "It is precisely because the two of them have high status, great contributions, and great influence that we must decide to execute them. Only by executing them can it be possible to save twenty, two hundred, two thousand, or twenty thousand cadres who have committed various degrees of mistakes.
1964On February 10, 2018, "People's Daily" published the newsletter "Road to Dazhai" and published an editorial. In December of the same year, Zhou Enlai issued a call in the "Government Work Report" of the First Session of the Third Session of the National People's Congress to "learn from Daqing in industry, learn from Dazhai in agriculture, and learn from the People's Liberation Army nationwide." The movement to learn from Dazhai in agriculture was launched across the country.
