Xie Yuantao gave a keynote speech on the opportunities and challenges brought by large-scale enrollment to the college, the periodicity of professional construction, the construction of dual-degree experimental classes, the undergraduate tutor system, and the construction of teacher talents driven by innovation, and put forward the key points and personal reflections that need to be discussed. The participants discussed issues related to talent training in this research. Professor Sun Jian expressed his opinions from several aspects such as enrollment in major categories, discipline construction, teacher title review, and care for students. Professor Wang Guojun, director of the academic committee of the college, and professor You Guiyun, member of the party committee, exchanged views on how to improve the quality of students through adjustment of major enrollment subjects. Tan Yingping, director of the Actuarial Science Department, and Chen Yin, branch secretary, discussed the construction of actuarial experimental classes and the undergraduate tutoring system. Wu Qiang, branch secretary of the Department of Social Security, put forward his personal views on the issue of the major categories of labor and social security, and asked the Department of Histology to discuss and study later development issues.
Secretary Meng Lingdong concluded his speech, emphasizing that talent cultivation is the central task of the college and that we must implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities,“Close firmly to the core point of comprehensively improving talent cultivation capabilities, and use this to drive other work in colleges and universities.” On the basis of today's third major discussion, we will seize the key issues and continue to thoroughly discuss the problems and solutions in talent cultivation in the college through the college level, department level, and student level, and incorporate them into future action plans to solve them one by one.
