Dr. Zhou Lixia was invited to attend the International Competition Law Conference

The International Competition Network was established in 2002 and is the world's largest international organization in the field of competition law. It aims to advocate the adoption of better competition policy standards and procedures globally, put forward opinions on the integration of entities and procedures, and seek more effective international cooperation that is beneficial to global economies, consumers and member institutions. There are currently 132 competitive agency members from 120 countries, and more than 200 non-governmental advisors (NGA Non-Governmental Advisors) from 100 countries provide consultation and participate in projects for ICN. The 17th ICN conference was attended by more than 500 government representatives and non-governmental consultants from 94 jurisdictions. Senior researcher Zhou Lixia attended the meeting and spoke as the only invited Chinese representative. Zhou Lixia is also the only Chinese scholar who has been invited to participate in the conference as a non-governmental advisor (NGA) for three consecutive years since 2016. Zhou Lixia participated in the 2016 Singapore and 2017 Porto Annual Conferences in Portugal and the 2017 Ottawa Cartel Conference in Canada, chairing or speaking at all conferences. Zhou Lixia was invited to co-chair a one-and-a-half-hour session on the latest trends and investigative techniques in mergers, cartels and unilateral behavior at the Global Competition Policy and Enforcement Emerging Trends Conference with Dan Swanson, Senior Vice Chairman of the International Bar Association’s Competition Committee. Fully discuss with well-known lawyers and scholars from the European Union, India, and Singapore the challenges posed to competition law enforcement and practice in the big data era and whether traditional competition analysis is still suitable for the new economy and new business models. It also specifically discusses technical topics such as the design of merger remedies, new trends in leniency policies, and new challenges of digital analytics and algorithms in the enforcement of unilateral actions. Zhou Lixia also introduced to the guests the recent organizational adjustments of China's law enforcement agencies and the significant progress made by the agencies since the implementation of the Anti-Monopoly Law ten years ago, and shared China's practices and practices in terms of merger remedies and exemptions, as well as comparative advantageous positions.
