There were nearly 200 guests and Chinese and foreign students. The conference was divided into six units and lasted a day and a half of academic discussions. Shi Jingxia gave a special speech on "Third Party Funding in Investor-State Dispute Settlement, ISDS" in the third unit of the conference. In her speech, Shi Jingxia discussed the concept and operation of third-party funding (TPF) in ISDS, the important developments and trends in this field in recent years, the evaluation procedures and core examination factors for third-party funders to fund investment arbitration cases, policy concerns and possible responses involving TPF in investment arbitration, the assessment of the impact of TPF on the entire ISDS mechanism, the basic attitude of various countries' laws and arbitration institution rules towards TPF, and new regulatory developments and other key issues. In her speech, Professor Shi Jingxia specifically pointed out that the TPF issue in ISDS cases, as a new issue in the field of investment arbitration in recent years, deserves great attention and attention. It includes both procedural issues and systemic considerations in the reform of the ISDS mechanism. During the discussion stage of the meeting, Shi Jingxia further communicated and exchanged views with other speakers and audiences in the group on the differences between third-party funding, donations and risk agencies in ISDS, as well as related cases, the characterization of TPF and other issues.

Previously on April 10 and 12, 2018, Professor Shi Jingxia was invited by the China International Economic and w88 Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) to participate in two "Symposiums on the Management and Control of Investment Disputes in China and Sweden" co-sponsored by CIETAC and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) in Chengdu and Shenzhen respectively, and conducted academic sharing with the participants on the issue of third-party funding in international investment arbitration.
