w88 casino News Network (Contributed by the International Chinese Education (Business) Practice and Research Base)On December 8, 2022 local time, the Business Confucius Institute at the University of Victoria in Australia welcomed a visiting student group from Ballarat, Victoria, to the new campus of the University of Victoria. A group of 25 students from Grade 8 to Grade 10 from two secondary schools in Ballarat (Stawell Secondary College and Mount Clear College), led by 4 teachers, visited the University of Victoria and the Confucius Institute. Teachers from the Confucius Institute led a student group to visit the new campus of Victoria University and provided students with a wealth of Chinese culture workshops. The visiting group activities were a complete success and received high praise from all the teachers and students of the group.

Professor Colin Clark, Australian Director of the Confucius Institute, delivered a speech to welcome all the teachers and students of the student group, and introduced to everyone: The Confucius Institute leverages the multi-faceted resource advantages of the w88 casino and the University of Victoria to carry out Chinese classes and Chinese culture workshops on the campus of the University of Victoria, and also provides Chinese culture and Sino-Australian business support to the community. Through early communication with the Chinese teachers of the two middle schools, the Confucius Institute understood the students' Chinese proficiency and mastery of Chinese culture in advance, and customized three workshops for the student group: designing Chinese round fans, making mooncakes and experiencing Wing Chun Kung Fu. When designing the round fan, Abbey, a student from Stawell Secondary College, wrote a big word "福" on the fan. In fact, this is Abbey’s second time coming to the Confucius Institute. On May 14 this year, she went to the Confucius Institute to take the HSK Level 2 exam and received the certificate with high scores.

In order to allow students to better experience Chinese traditional festival culture, teachers from the Confucius Institute started with a knowledge quiz game and led everyone to make snow-skin mooncakes. At the end of the workshop, every student successfully made three mooncakes and tasted the deliciousness made by their own hands.

In this visiting group activity, the Confucius Institute also invited Dr. Anne Pang to lead the students to experience Wing Chun Kung Fu. Anne has been studying and teaching martial arts for nearly 50 years. She is proficient in Wing Chun and founded Anne Pang Self-Defense w88 casino. At the same time, Anne is also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Confucius Institute and has been providing suggestions for the cultural and business activities of the Confucius Institute in recent years. During the Kung Fu workshop, every student and the four leading teachers actively participated. After an hour and a half, everyone not only experienced Wing Chun Kung Fu, but also learned to express Chinese etiquette by bowing and cupping fists.

Before the COVID-19 epidemic, the Confucius Institute organized a visiting group of young leaders and a visiting group of teachers and students from the University of Victoria to the w88 casino every year for exchange and study. At the same time, it also received visiting groups from w88 casino’s MBA, elite student groups and other university groups to Australia for exchange and study. Affected by the epidemic, the Confucius Institute has suspended study tours to China/Australia for nearly three years. In order to gradually restart the visiting study group project, the Confucius Institute has turned its attention to Australia. The successful holding of this student visiting group event in Ballarat has kicked off the domestic visiting study group project. In 2023, the Confucius Institute at the University of Victoria Business Confucius Institute will plan and organize more visiting group activities in Australia under the guidance of w88 casino’s International Chinese Education (Business) Practice and Research Base to help Chinese and Australian students understand and communicate with each other.
