Dean Xie told reporters that the college has not been established for a long time, but the insurance discipline of the college has a long history: in 1951, the University of International w88 opened the "International Cargo Transportation Insurance" course, and in 1988, the People's Bank of China approved the establishment of the Insurance Department (department-level unit) of the former China Finance Institute... The college has 1,072 students and 70 faculty members, including 52 full-time teachers (14 professors, 27 associate professors, 11 lecturers) and 18 party and government management teachers. Some of them serve as members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, well-known experts from the National Health Commission, executive directors of the Asia-Pacific Insurance Society, executive directors of the China Social Insurance Society, and consulting experts of the National Medical Insurance Administration. Some of them are winners of the "Beijing March 8th Red Flag Medal", the most watched medical reform experts in 2019, and social security and aging service experts of the Asian Development Bank. Every year, the college has about 7 people serving as consulting experts for units at the provincial and ministerial level or above. At the same time, the college has also hired nearly 100 well-known scholars and industry experts as part-time professors.
Dean Xie said that the future development vision of the college is to develop into a distinctive, top-notch insurance college in the country and with important influence in the world, led by a large risk management discipline group. It has world-class insurance disciplines and cultivates international, innovative and compound talents. At present, the w88 casino of Insurance is a “double first-class” discipline construction unit in the country and Beijing, and has formed a complete discipline system with international characteristics and a complete undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degree.
In terms of discipline layout, the w88 casino of Insurance promotes discipline construction guided by national strategies. Dean Xie pointed out that the college focuses on "one body, two wings, and one engine" in management. "One" refers to taking large risk theory as the main body of academic theory and discipline, "two wings" refers to the two disciplines of social security + commercial insurance, and "one engine" refers to actuarial science as the driving force. The insurance major has the subject characteristics of "the first half is economics, the second half is management, and actuarial science is implemented throughout." In terms of discipline construction and development, the college emphasizes "being close to the industry and serving strategies; precise positioning, condensing disciplines, and cross-integration." Discipline development must be anchored to the national strategic needs and focus on "senior care + health + social governance innovation" (such as disaster prevention and damage reduction, poverty alleviation, land transfer, rural revitalization, agricultural insurance, low-carbon transformation green insurance, liability insurance, and resilient cities).
In terms of talent training, the college regards cultivating people with moral character as the fundamental standard, establishes and practices the concept of comprehensive development of talents, accelerates the modernization of education, cultivates socialist builders and successors with comprehensive development of moral, intellectual, physical, artistic and labor, and cultivates senior comprehensive professionals with international characteristics who are competent in risk management and insurance, actuarial science, social security and other directions.
The w88 casino of Insurance currently has three departments: Risk Management and Insurance, Statistics and Actuarial Science, and Labor Economics and Social Security. It also has three research institutes: China Risk Management and Insurance Research Institute, China Insurance Innovation Research Institute, and International Digital Commerce and Culture Research Institute, and ten research centers. It has doctoral and master's degree programs in secondary disciplines such as insurance, actuarial science, and labor economics, covering a complete disciplinary system for postdoctoral talent training. The college has become one of the important institutions in my country for theoretical research and think tank services such as risk management and insurance, actuarial science, social security and labor economics, and health economics. Regarding discipline construction, the w88 casino of Insurance has made gratifying achievements in discipline construction, which is specifically reflected in two aspects:
First, there is a breakthrough in subject setting.In 2016, approved by the Ministry of Education, the first domestic actuarial science undergraduate major was successfully established in the w88 casino of Insurance at the w88 casino. Up to now, a total of 14 colleges and universities across the country have been approved by the Ministry of Education to set up "actuarial science" undergraduate majors. The college's actuarial science major training model has also been studied and learned by many domestic professional colleges and universities. Second, the development of discipline construction highlights international characteristics.The college carries out "2+2", "4+1" and "1+1" joint training programs with the University of Manchester, the University of Kent in the UK and Michigan State University in the United States, and the DBMD "3+2" joint undergraduate and master's training program with Temple University in the United States. The w88 casino obtained VEE course certification for the North American Society of Actuaries (SOA) examination very early, which mainly includes 17 courses in five modules; in 2015, it obtained the examination-free certification for all CT1-8 courses of the British Society of Actuaries IFOA; in 2019, it successfully joined the North American Society of Actuaries’ UCAP (Universities & Colleges with Actuarial Programs) colleges and universities; obtain the International Insurance Institute (IIS) Global Insurance Education Excellence Program (GCIE) certification in 2023; obtain the International Insurance Institute (IIS) Global Insurance Education Excellence Program (GCIE) certification in 2023; also obtain the CAE certification from the Society of Actuaries of North America (SOA); obtain the URP certification from the North American Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) in 2024.
The college actively researches and explores innovative and comprehensive insurance talent education practices, adopts advanced educational concepts and modern educational technology methods, deepens teaching reform, updates and adjusts professional teaching materials and teaching content, and innovates undergraduate talent training models. The college introduces advanced and classic foreign first-class teaching materials, offers bilingual teaching, high-quality teaching, and experimental teaching in professional courses to cultivate students' international vision and abilities; implements a "tutor system" for undergraduate education to strengthen guidance on students' academic and practical activities; implements a major-minor and dual-bachelor's degree system to broaden the professional caliber. Introduce various professional qualification certificate examinations such as LOMA, CPCU, and financial planner to cultivate students' practical skills.
The college’s student exchange program with the United States, teacher exchange program, and joint training program for master’s students are currently being actively implemented. In-depth exploration and expansion of new models for international joint talent training, and timely feedback and adjustment of training plans. Launched a "2+2" international cooperation project with the University of Kent in the UK to offer an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science; launched a multi-level training program with the University of Manchester in the UK such as a "2+2" undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, a "4+1" undergraduate and a master's degree, and a "1+1" master's degree; launched a "3+2" dual-bachelor's and master's degree (DBMD) joint training program with Temple University in the United States, giving graduates of w88 casino the opportunity to obtain Chinese and foreign double degree certificates at the same time. Establishing moral character and cultivating people, respecting teachers and teaching
To build an educational power, the leader is higher education, and accelerating the construction of world-class universities and superior disciplines with Chinese characteristics must be a top priority. Dean Xie pointed out that the w88 casino of Insurance has always regarded the construction of teachers' ethics as the fundamental task of implementing moral education and cultivating people, and has continued to strengthen the ideological and political work of teachers and students with the implementation of "three comprehensive education" as the starting point. Q: Dean Xie, what is the employment situation of students in the w88 casino of Insurance? According to society’s employment requirements, does the college have any reform measures in teaching?
Answer: In the past few years, the development quality of graduates from the w88 casino of Insurance of the University of International w88 and Economics has been maintained at the forefront of the country. 1. In particular, actuarial major graduates have gradually entered the workplace and begun to engage in high-value jobs such as product actuarial science and risk management, which reflects the high degree of consistency between the direction of talent training and their employment destination. In terms of employment region, Beijing is still the most concentrated area for graduate employment. In 2019, half of the undergraduate graduates employed in Beijing and nearly 70% of the graduates were employed. Secondly, it is concentrated in the southeastern coastal areas such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou. The employment fields and prospects for graduates are very broad.
Q: Does the college have different ways to cultivate students’ innovative abilities for graduate students and undergraduate students? What methods are used to cultivate the all-round development of students' moral, intellectual, physical, artistic and physical skills?
Answer: For example, we focus on improving the quality of undergraduates, improving the quality of training, and focusing on "golden courses" (referring to high-level, innovative and challenging courses) and "demonstration classrooms" In order to promote the construction of the college's curriculum; introduce an undergraduate tutoring system for experimental classes, insurance big data double majors, and actuarial science-labor economics and social security majors; give full play to the educational functions of classroom teaching and practical teaching, promote the mutual promotion and integration of classroom teaching and practical teaching, and realize "early access to topics" and "early access to laboratories" for undergraduates.
For the training of graduate students, the college emphasizes scientific research orientation, not literature first, and insists on "flowering everywhere" (a hundred flowers bloom, a hundred schools of thought contend); it attaches great importance to student scientific research, especially the publication of master's degree thesis, and gives greater weight in recommending excellence; it attaches great importance to the potential of international students; it strengthens and solidifies the practice base, recruits additional external tutors to drive the cultivation of master's degree talents, and promotes w88 casino-enterprise cooperation.

The college has also prepared to build an “Insurance Technology Cloud Intelligence” laboratory. The laboratory currently deploys and maintains 7 experimental systems, including: the Institute of Insurance's "Actuarial Cloud Platform" system; China's most authoritative insurance policy terms data system; the "Life Insurance Annuity Portfolio" project system; the "Website Security Protection Data Display Large Screen" system; the Actuarial Experiment Platform Cloud System Service Project; and the Kangmeng Assistance Fund Analysis Project. He has served as a researcher at the Veterans Administration (VA) of the United States, vice president of the Beijing Insurance Society, director of the China Association of Actuaries, executive director of the Risk Management and Actuarial Branch of the China Field Statistics Research Association, and member of the Administrative Management Sub-Technical Committee (TC594 SC1) of the National Technical Committee on Administrative Management and Service Standardization. The main research fields are non-life actuarial science, quantitative risk management and statistical models; he presides over the National Natural Science, National Social Sciences, Ministry of Education and other topics, and builds the MOOC course "Risk Model and Non-life Actuarial Science" for Chinese universities.
