[Editor's Note] In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the National Education Conference and other conferences, and comprehensively promote the construction project of teachers in the new era of schools, according to the "Central Committee of the Communist Party of China" According to the requirements of the State Council’s Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of the Construction of the Teacher Team in the New Era, which “strengthen teachers’ participation in social practice and promote teachers’ full understanding of the Party’s conditions, the country’s conditions, social conditions, and the people’s conditions”, the Party Committee’s Teacher Affairs Department/Human Resources Division organized a national conditions education for new teachers in 2020 to guide young teachers to expand their horizons, grow their talents, make contributions, and serve the motherland while serving the society. In late September 2020, 32 new teachers went to four practice sites in Qingdao, Shandong, Shenzhen, Guandong, Haikou, Hainan, and Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, kicking off their practice of education, teaching, subject research, and think tank construction. The process of practice is also a process of understanding life, thinking about the present, sublimating the state of mind, and inspiring the mission. They use real and delicate brushwork and lenses to present practical stories that belong to themselves and more specifically to the young teachers of the University of International w88.

In the blink of an eye, the practical activities in Qingdao have come to an end. Looking back on the scientific research activities and collective life outside work that I participated in these two months, I have a lot of feelings...

1. About Qingdao

Before coming to Qingdao, I was full of expectations and yearning for this city. Historically, Qingdao was an open city well-known in East Asia and even the world. It was known as the "Switzerland of the East" and was the former residence of famous historical and cultural celebrities. It provided passion and inspiration to countless literati, such as Lao She, Liang Shiqiu, Wen Yiduo, Shen Congwen, etc. It also attracted Wang Tongzhao, the founder of the Shandong New Culture Movement, as well as budding literary enthusiasts such as Xiao Hong, Xiao Jun, Zang Kejia, etc., and also left numerous literary works with Qingdao as the theme. After arriving in Qingdao, through traveling to Badaguan, Laoshan and other scenic spots, as well as talking with city residents, I found that in my life journey, there is no city more suitable for autumn than Qingdao.

II. About Qingdao Research Institute

Before conducting national practice, my impression of the Qingdao Research Institute was only sparse reports on the Internet. I initially thought that the Research Institute was just a "closed-door" research institution. However, after just two months of living and studying at the Qingdao Research Institute, I deeply felt how the Qingdao Research Institute, as the fulcrum of the University of International w88 and Economics based in Qingdao for a long time, provides support and contributes to the local social and economic development. Among the many achievements of the institute, what I particularly admire is that the "China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Local Economic and w88 Cooperation Demonstration Zone Plan" drafted by the institute was adopted by Qingdao City and finally received national approval. In addition, the Qingdao Research Institute has also contributed the wisdom of the University of International w88 in supporting Qingdao’s bid to host the construction of the “China (Shandong) Free w88 Pilot Zone Qingdao Area”. At the same time, in the past four years, the institute has also actively leveraged the scientific advantages of the University of w88 and Economics to cultivate high-end talents for Qingdao. At the same time, it has carried out cooperation and exchanges with enterprises, institutions, primary and secondary schools, and communities in Qingdao in terms of w88 casino-site cooperation, resource opening, teacher supply, and joint education, and actively assisted local economic and social development.

As a phased result of the strategic cooperation between the w88 casino and the Qingdao Municipal People's Government, the establishment of the Qingdao Research Institute can be said to be successful and has extremely important reference significance.

3. About individuals

Under the organization of Dean Kou and the leadership team, the institute has arranged very intensive and challenging practical content for us during these two months, providing us with a very good transition opportunity from doctoral students to teachers. For me personally, these two months of practice have allowed me to gain experience and experience beyond my expectations.

First of all, in order to allow new teachers to better face the upcoming national-level project applications, the Qingdao Research Institute, with the support of Dean Kou, allocated research funds for each of us, allowing me to completely go through the entire process of project application writing, project establishment, and project completion within two months, which laid a solid foundation for me to successfully apply for the National Natural Science Foundation and the Social Science Fund in the future.

Secondly, under the careful organization of the Qingdao Research Institute, the new teachers and I actively participated in the 2020 fall "Doctoral Forum" held by the institute. During the lecture, each teacher explained the knowledge in detail from the perspective of his or her own subject, which not only created a strong academic atmosphere, but also opened up new horizons for me in interdisciplinary fields. At the same time, the active question-and-answer interaction between the teacher and the audience after each lecture also made me not slack off and always maintained my ability to think academically. More importantly, the large forum provided me with an excellent opportunity to practice before going to the formal forum. It not only allowed me to further think about how to make slightly complex academic results more understandable, but also allowed me to learn from other teachers' strengths and learn richer and more diverse teaching skills from other teachers.

Third, in terms of on-site research and visits, many discussions with the government and enterprises gave me very three-dimensional and different feelings: (1) Through research and interviews with the Shibei District Government and the West Coast New District Government, I learned that the purpose of the government is to seek happiness for the people and contribute to society. Only by carefully considering and doing specific things for the people's clothing, food, housing and transportation can we innovate and make a difference. From the perspective of organizational management, the government must also form governance capabilities and systems in the organization. It must give more consideration to how to do specific things for the people's food, clothing, housing and transportation, give full play to the vanguard and exemplary role of party organizations and party members, promote the modernization of the governance system and governance capabilities, and better serve the people; (2) By visiting the Haier headquarters and discussing with the dean of the Haier University Business w88 casino, I deeply felt that as a port city with a strategic position, Qingdao is in a critical period of industrial iterative upgrading. To develop, Qingdao must not only promote industrial upgrading driven by emerging technologies, such as accelerating the commercialization of 5G, popularizing the industrial Internet, and building an artificial intelligence R&D service platform, but also integrate and innovate smart application scenarios, such as building "wisdom + industry", "wisdom + people's livelihood", and "wisdom + service" application scenarios. More importantly, with the signing of the RCEP agreement, Qingdao must guide enterprises to make full use of the important platform of the free w88 pilot zone and the import w88 promotion innovation demonstration zone in terms of key technology and equipment imports to promote industrial upgrading, put innovation and technology, self-reliance and self-reliance in the first and core position, and continuously improve the quality and efficiency of development.

The trip to Qingdao is coming to an end, and I have a lot of gratitude in my heart...

Secondly, I would like to thank the eight colleagues I met in the Qingdao delegation. We graduated from various schools with PhD degrees and came to the University of International w88, and then unexpectedly gathered in Qingdao. We spent a wonderful and unforgettable two months. In the past two months, we not only inspired and encouraged each other in scientific research, but also often left early and returned late together in the office. We also often shared all kinds of interesting and difficult things in life outside of work. This kind of mutual supervision and extremely loving collective life helped me quickly integrate into the University of International w88 and establish a sense of psychological belonging and security. Although the practice in Qingdao is over, the nine of us will continue to work hard together on the career path of teachers and scholars, and never forget our original aspirations!
