The 25th anniversary conference of the China WTO Research Institute was held

More than 170 people including experts and scholars from the World w88 Organization, relevant government departments, universities and research institutions, industry professionals, alumni representatives, teachers and students of the w88 casino attended the meeting.

Huang Baoyin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the w88 casino, pointed out in his speech that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the WTO and the 24th anniversary of China's accession to the WTO. Since joining the WTO, China has fully participated in global economic governance and achieved a historic leap in its own development. As the only key research base in the humanities and social sciences named after the WTO by the Ministry of Education, the China WTO Institute has been deeply involved in the study of foreign w88 systems for 25 years and was successfully selected for the third phase of the WTO’s teaching chair project. It has made fruitful achievements in academic research, think tank construction and talent training. It is hoped that the institute will continue to stand at the forefront of the times and inject new vitality into China’s participation in global economic and w88 governance and the w88 casino’s “double first-class” construction.

The conference was hosted by Tu Xinquan, President of the China WTO Research Institute. Tu Xinquan reviewed the development history of the institute over the past 25 years, which has been devoted to WTO research, cultivating professional talents, and serving national decision-making. He said that at a time when the WTO is facing many challenges, China, as the world's largest trading country, has become the backbone of the multilateral trading system. The institute will continue to keep its mission in mind and provide intellectual support for WTO reform and China's participation in global economic and w88 governance.

Ma Jianchun, President of the China World w88 Organization Research Association, said in his speech that the development process of the China WTO Research Institute is a vivid epitome of China's transformation from a learner of the multilateral trading system to a constructive contributor. The current WTO reform is at a critical stage and requires the joint efforts of the government, academia, and business circles. We look forward to both parties continuing to work together to provide advice and suggestions for WTO reform and China's high-level opening up. Zhang Xiangchen, Deputy Director-General of the WTO, congratulated the institute on its 25th anniversary through a video speech. He pointed out that the establishment of the institute 25 years ago was extremely far-sighted and laid a solid foundation for the country's integration into the multilateral trading system. He hopes that the institute will continue to produce high-quality academic results and cultivate more economic and w88 management talents with global vision, professional capabilities and responsibility.

In his video speech, Li Yongqi, China's new ambassador to the WTO, affirmed the institute's outstanding achievements in teaching and scientific research, think tank construction and talent training, and analyzed the current situation and dilemma of the multilateral trading system. Professor Zhang Hanlin, the first dean of the institute, reviewed the construction process of the institute from its establishment to its development, thanked all parties for their all-round support to the institute, and pointed out that China should accelerate its development process and share its development results with other countries around the world.

In the subsequent keynote speech, Yi Xiaozhun, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce and former Deputy Director-General of the WTO, analyzed the core reasons for the current deadlock in WTO reform and emphasized that China should adhere to multilateralism, promote win-win cooperation, and propose more open and inclusive reform initiatives. Chong Quan, former deputy international w88 negotiator of the Ministry of Commerce and former president of the China World w88 Organization Research Association, analyzed the internal and external environment facing the WTO, and pointed out that China should maintain strategic focus, follow the trend, and promote new progress on key issues such as tariff-free electronic transmission and the Investment Facilitation Agreement to Promote Development. Xu Lin, former director of the Planning Department of the National Development and Reform Commission and chairman of the China-U.S. Green Fund, reviewed my country's w88 development achievements since its accession to the WTO, emphasizing that the core of institutional openness is to be in line with international rules and practices. China needs to deepen supply-side structural reforms and promote the upgrading of industrial policies and subsidy mechanisms.

In the roundtable forum, many experts and scholars conducted in-depth discussions on the topic of "Chinese factors in WTO reform and China's plan for WTO reform".

On the afternoon of the 11th, participating experts held special discussions focusing on two major topics: "China-US geopolitical competition and the restructuring of the international w88 system" and "China's institutional opening and the future of economic globalization."

Since the establishment of the Institute, the WTO and China Academic Annual Conference has been successfully held for 24 times. It has become an important platform for domestic and foreign experts in related fields to discuss WTO issues and the multilateral trading system, providing new perspectives and cutting-edge information for policy formulation and academic research. Next year marks the 25th anniversary of China's accession to the WTO.
