The report shows that in the face of the fierce market conditions in first-tier cities, 60% of university graduates choose second-tier cities for employment. Compared with first-tier cities, these cities have lower living costs and their incomes are slightly higher than those in third- and fourth-tier cities.
In first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, the rapidly developing small and medium-sized enterprises and emerging industries have become the new favorites for graduates to find jobs. Graduates who choose to find employment in first-tier cities do not value "job stability" but rather career development opportunities. The report shows that the top three indicators that graduates value most are "promotion opportunities", "colleague relationships" and "training opportunities", while the least valued indicators are "recognition from others", "managing others" and "job stability". It is not difficult to see that graduates pay more attention to their own development and harmonious relationships, and do not attach much importance to the "iron rice bowl".
It is worth noting that in terms of the employability of college students, the general ability of "returnees" is stronger than that of "local manufacturing". These four general abilities include mathematical application, language understanding, logical reasoning and data analysis. These four abilities are the basic abilities for carrying out practical work. They will affect a person's agility and accuracy in processing numbers, text and other information. To a certain extent, they are also a reflection of comprehensive strength. Data shows that the scores of domestic college graduates in these four aspects are approximately57points, and the scores of returnee graduates in these four aspects are about70Points.
In view of the difficulty in finding employment among college students, the report believes that the main reasons include the common blind spots of college graduates when applying for jobs, and the unrealistic and immature career expectations of college graduates. Data show that more than 70% of university graduates choose employment expectations that do not match their behavioral characteristics and ability characteristics, and more than 40% of graduates have no clear preference for practical issues related to work and life.
