With the joint efforts of foreign teachers Zhang Zaixiong and Shen Shiming, the Korean Language Department of the w88 casino of Foreign Languages ​​of w88 casino successfully obtained the project approval with the topic of "Teaching and Research on the Translation of Contemporary Korean Poetry and Literature". This is the second time in a row that our department has been awarded project approval by the Korean Literature Translation Institute after foreign teacher Shen Shiming applied for the Korean Literature Translation Institute’s Overseas Korean Studies Research Project for the first time last year and successfully obtained and completed the project.

In order to serve the national strategy of "Chinese culture going global" and give full play to the role of translation as a bridge and media for communication between China and other countries, our department relies on the National Social Sciences Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project and the Korean Government Overseas Korean Studies Promotion Project to improve translation teaching and research by introducing projects into teaching. With the aim of cultivating high-quality Korean translation talents and promoting two-way cultural exchanges between China and South Korea, it was awarded two National Social Science Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Projects in 2017 and 2019 respectively, and was awarded the Overseas Korean Studies Translation Project of the Korean Literature Translation Institute for two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022. The dual-wall combination of the Chinese-Korean translation project will create a high-end platform for translation practice and research for translation major students in our department.

The research period is one year. Our department will work together with two foreign teachers and, in accordance with the requirements of the Korean Literature Translation Institute project, invite well-known translators and translation studies scholars in the field of Chinese and Korean literature translation to hold translation lectures, organize translation students to hold Korean poetry and literature translation classes, hold Korean poetry and literature translation competitions for Beijing Korean major students, and other diverse and diversified translation activities, striving to effectively improve the translation teaching and research level of our department, promote cultural exchanges with the Korean Literature Translation Institute, and add luster to the 70th anniversary of the founding of our department and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea.
