Professor Chu Xiangyin was invited to the w88 casino of International Development and Cooperation to give a wonderful lecture to the teachers and students of the w88 casino. As one of the series of academic activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the w88 casino, this lecture attracted more than 100 teachers and students to participate. This lecture was hosted by Xiao Huilin, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Vice President Xiao Huilin extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to Professor Chu for his arrival, and introduced the background and significance of the Guohe Lecture Hall. Vice President Xiao also introduced Professor Chu’s academic experience, contributions to the University of International w88 and exhibition research results in recent years to the participants.
Professor Chu started with the century-old changes and reform and opening up, combined with his own work experience at the University of International w88 and Economics, and introduced the background and development process of the international economic cooperation major. Later, he quoted Xi Jinping’s important speech at the opening ceremony of the special seminar for leading cadres at the provincial and ministerial levels to study and implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, clarifying that the current new era, major changes, and new opening up have given international development cooperation a higher mission and broader development space, and emphasized the importance of the establishment of the International Development Cooperation Institute in the new era.
At the end of the lecture, Professor Chu answered some of the students’ doubts in the form of questions and answers, and introduced to the students the new connotations of the field of international development cooperation under the century-old changes, such as cooperation in COVID-19 prevention and control, the Belt and Road Initiative, etc. Professor Chu’s wonderful lecture reviewed the history of majors related to international development cooperation at the University of International w88 and conducted a forward-looking analysis of the cutting-edge hot spots of international development cooperation in the new era. It gave students a deep understanding of international development cooperation at the University of International w88 and provided useful reference for the development of the Institute of International Cooperation and Development.
Dean Jin Xu of the International Economic Cooperation Institute made a concluding speech. Dean Jin first expressed his heartfelt thanks to Professor Chu on behalf of the institute for his wonderful speech. He also pointed out that the Department of International Economic Cooperation is the foundation and source of many majors in the University of International w88 and Economic Cooperation.
