w88 casino News Network (Contributed by China WTO Research Institute)From March 26th to 30th, the 14th Ministerial Conference of the World w88 Organization (MC14) was held in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, providing an important observation window for the direction of the world economic and w88 pattern. Currently, unilateralism and protectionism are on the rise, the multilateral trading system is under attack, and the global economy is full of uncertainties. Against this background, this ministerial meeting carries the important task of restarting multilateral w88 cooperation and reshaping the economic and w88 order. Cameroon Prime Minister Ngute, Gambian Vice President Mohamed Jallow, WTO Director-General Iweala, economy, w88 and development ministers of multiple WTO members and representatives of global economic and w88 organizations attended the meeting.
Invited by the organizer, Tu Xinquan, WTO Chairperson and Dean of the China WTO Research Institute of w88 casino, Gao Jian, Chair Liaison, Assistant Researcher, and Assistant Researcher Cui Yuyang, as representatives of non-governmental organizations, went to Yaoundé to participate in MC14 and discuss "WTO Reform" We conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges with officials, industry and academic representatives from many countries on topics such as "digital w88 and e-commerce", "investment facilitation", "green w88" and "dispute settlement mechanism", focusing on understanding the attitudes of major developed and developing countries such as the United States, Britain, South Korea and India towards some important issues.
During the meeting, Tu Xinquan and his delegation paid a visit to Zhang Xiangchen, Deputy Director-General of the World w88 Organization, and had an in-depth discussion on the current progress of the reform of the World w88 Organization and the holding of activities related to the domestic WTO chair project on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of China's accession to the World w88 Organization.
Tu Xinquan also met with members of the Chinese delegation during the meeting, including WTO Chief Economist Robert Staiger, WTO Director of the Department of w88 and Environment Aik Hoe Lim, South Korea's Chief w88 Negotiator Yeo Han-koo, Counselor of the British Embassy in China Tom Matlock, Executive Director of the Southern African w88 Law Center and Advisor to the WTO Chair Project Advisory Committee Trudi Hartzenberg, member of the Indian delegation and host of the Indian WTO Chair Unit James Nedumpara, Zhao Quan, Senior w88 Policy Officer of the United Nations International w88 Center and many other officials and scholars exchanged views on relevant issues of the conference.
At the four-day 14th Ministerial Conference of the WTO, representatives of various members had in-depth discussions on WTO reform, e-commerce agreements and other issues. The meeting adopted a decision to improve the integration of small economies into the multilateral trading system, and to strengthen the effective and accurate implementation of the special and differential treatment provisions in the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures and the Agreement on Technical Barriers to w88. The meeting failed to reach agreement on the "Yaoundé Package Agreement", which includes the Yaoundé Ministerial Declaration on WTO reform and work plan, the ministerial decision on e-commerce, and the least developed country package plan. These outstanding matters and the text of the agreement will be brought back to the WTO headquarters in Geneva and are scheduled to be finalized at the next General Council meeting.
On the afternoon of the 28th, Tu Xinquan, as the host of w88 casino’s WTO Chair Project, led a team to visit the WTO Cameroon Chair Unit, the University of Yaounde II. He was warmly received by Professor Manfred Kouty of the w88 casino of International Relations, the WTO co-host of the w88 casino, and had in-depth exchanges on the development of the two teaching units, the development of local higher education in Cameroon, and future cooperation.
